Star Ocean The Last Hope International Edition.

I expected it to be a long, rather epic game with many interesting to see. I expected a cliche storyline with all the elements of JRPGs that many people want to demonize them for. I expected a chosen one character that does good things because it is the right thing to do. I expected a lot of places to explore and many other items I can choose to explore and get if I fee like it. I expected it to have a main plot that only advances when I choose to allow it. You know the same kinds of things you can do in western rpgs, but without the whole, you know, lying to you.

Western RPGs lie to you. They are not better than JRPGs. They are the same.

Porta. What I saw before release made me excited, but I had no idea the game would be so hilarious and well designed.

As others on here have said, I too am currently being blown away by the sheer awesomeness of InFamous. I might even replay it to see the other side! Probably not, but it's a possibility, and that's more than I can say for a lot of games.

I expected inFamous to be an average game, but I got waay more out of it. The whole game was just so much fun, some of the most fun I had in years.

I put off buying Psychonauts for ages as I was skeptical of the hype. Finally bought it and it blew me away. Same with 'Sanitarium'.

Mass Effect 2.

I expected it to suck because I didn't like the original Mass Effect, but it's now my favourite RPG.

Prince of Persia trilogy.

Resident Evil 4 which, like Yahtzee, is really the only game in the series I liked.

Okami. I haven't have the opportunity to play this on the PS2, but I have this on the Wii and I love it despite it's flaws.

Shadow of the Colossus... That alone should speak for itself.
