So escapist, I just finished playing I Am Alive, and while I didn't think it was bad, it was a little clunky, unpolished and the trouble it had in development really shows. However, I loved every other part of it. I loved intimidating looters with an unloaded gun, I loved the cannibals in the subway,I loved how the moral choice system with victims was just that, your morals, and not some stupid point system, and I especially loved how it turned into a stealth game at the very end. The thing is though that the game was only 5 hours long, so there isn't much of those good parts, and the stealth part was there for one measly chapter. So, as much as I liked it, it really shows that it never was able to reach its full potential. That's why I'm hoping they make a full-fledged sequel,
and for most of the game it seemed like they were setting it up for that... but then there was the ending scene and I was disappointed (although not surprised)

So yeah, there's mine. What games do you want to have a do over?

I'd really like to see Mass Effect 1 done over with the more modern gameplay. ME1 is just not fun to play, at all, which is a shame since y'know, story and choices and new characters to play through the trilogy with.

Brutal Legend. It had all the ELEMENTS of a great game, but they never really came together for me. If they toned down the RTS, and beefed up the hack-and-slash, as well as tweaking a few things here and there, I really could have seen myself liking it.

MediEvil 2, 'cause they did the first one. I figure if you're going to revamp the first game, follow through with the second game as well.

It had so much potential, could've been real time battles instead of a turn-based game re skinned over and over and over.

God damn it. I thought we were done with this shit after MW3 came out. I was obviously wrong. And I'm tired of getting into it, so, to keep it simple, please use logic. Please.

OT: Mirror's Edge, so if they ever get around to that sequel it would be very welcome.

Alpha Protocol - Great choice and dialogue mechanics. Even decent level design with most missions allowing both stealth and gun-happy playthroughs. However, it was buggy, unbalanced (I killed the end boss in 5 seconds) and sloppily written. With a better, more focused team working on it and a serious balance pass made on the guns and skills it could be the best Deus Ex games since the original Deus Ex.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - FIX THE DAMN AI AND COMMAND INTERFACE THAT IS ALL I ASK!

Splinter Cell: Conviction - Less forced action sequences in the Single player (this is Splinter Cell, not Uncharted), and let me leave enemies alive in Denied Ops.

Speaking of... Conflict: Denied Ops - Go back to the 4 person team from the earlier games. Fix the co-op and hire better writers.

That's all for now.

In spite of its many flaws, there's potential in there to be something goddamn incredible.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Still a damned good game, especially with the community patches to smooth out the experience. One of my favourites even! But it just could have... *should* have been more. Oh what I'd give for more games like Bloodlines. In my ideal gaming world Bloodlines wouldn't need community patches and would have been shipped perfect, would have sold fantastically, and Troika would still be around making Arcanum and Bloodlines 2.

Knights of the Old Republic 2

If you're ever played this game with the Restored Content Mod you'll know what I mean when I say this game had the potential to not just be better than the first game, but to absolutely blow it away in nearly every regard. The gameplay was more diverse and better balanced, the story was extremely compelling, the characters you interact with fantastically well realized. Only problem? Never finished. It was clearly shipped incomplete (Yes I know why!) and even with amazing mods like the above it's just never been allowed to reach that high promise.

Morrowind, because I just can't get into it even with super-modded graphics. Just having each bit of dialogue spoken would be nice, and some upgraded models for characters, and having civilians move around and sleep.

Funny, I was going to say Mass Effect 2 to make it play more like Mass Effect 1, because ME2 is just not fun to play. There's more than enough shooters out there, and "gamers" really need to stop stealing all franchises to become shooters. Mass Effect just wasn't made for you.

I wholeheartedly agree about KOTOR 2 though while I bought Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines on steam for some reason it won't work on my computer. God I wish they would do an HD collection of the KOTOR games and finish KOTOR 2.

OT: While odds are there are games with way more tragic backstories and suffer worse problems I would say Asura's Wrath since after beating it twice now the flaws are incredibly apparent. If they did another one with way less of a reliance on cutscenes and tried fixing the gameplay a bit it would be a great game but now it's just around a 6 or a 7.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Well I wouldn't say ME2 was no fun at all, it certainly wasn't as fun as it's predecessor. Of course I'm one of the apparently extremely few people who actually enjoyed the Mako driving sections in ME1 so there ya go.

Chrono Trigger. Besides the obvious need to update to HD sprites, the combat and battle mechanics are just too slow and boring by modern standards. The next time they port it to a handheld, or virtual console, etc they need to speed up the combat aspect of the game.
