Heck, make it a MMORPG. At this point I'd do about anything for a rationally constructed post-modern urban vampire simulator with a big toe in contemporary pop culture.
CCP, Who make EVE Online recently merged with White Wolf, creators of the Vampire: The Masquerade setting, and are making a MMO based on the company's properties.

That said, the MMO will focus on Vampire: The Requiem, a similar, but different product line.

Some great additions to the thread. I forgot about Kid Icarus...and as well, that reminded me of another game series: I wanna see an Actraiser 3. One of the most beautiful games on the SNES, graphics-wise, with some of the best music I have ever heard on a cartridge definately deserves a sequel. Or Nightmare Creatures, although I may be one of the only ones in the world who wants to see it.

I'm really waiting for Bionic Commando and the Golden Axe games to come out to see what they did with them. If they end up being a great hit, maybe more retro games will get remade.

As far as Bioware and KOTOR 3, I wasn't aware that it was beyond rumor and hearsay. Hopefully they go back to what made the first one better than the second and actually release a finished game...stupid Lucas Arts...

anyone who said perfect dark 2 deserves a medal. golden sun definitly needs more (ive heard the reason there hasant been a third one was becase of a falling out or something between nintendo and camelot, but dont know the validity of that), and definitly skies of arcadia needs a sequal, as does chrono trigger/chrono cross. unreal 3 would be nice as would a good sequal to ff tactics, and im not getting into fallout 3 at all (suffied to say i disagree with the person who talked about it).

now, all aggrements aside, a WORTHY sequal to deus ex, hopefull deus ex 3 will be just that, not expecting it to be as good as deus ex, after all its not easy to one up the greatest game ever made, but a worthy sequal at least. a good new entry into the orginal mega man or megaman x games, or a mm legends 3 (yes, im a mega man fan, so what of it?). a sequal to opfor (half life 2:eek:pposing force sound like a bad title to anyone?). give the guys from frictional games a 30 man development team and a few million to make something like penumbra. id definitly like to see a sequal or something to silent bomber as well.

there are about a dozen or so other games that came into my head and then suddenly up and left half way though this post, 2 really good ones as well, but alas, cant think of them at the moment.

I'd have to say Deus Ex because Invisible War was cool but too dumbed down for the console players and just full of some bad ideas like a universal ammo type for all weapons.
System Shock 2, Bioshock was great as a spiritual successor but a return to the System shock franchise that isn't dumbed down for the console would be perfect.
Borderlands, It isn't even out yet and won't be for a year, but just based off what they say about it I'd say it needs a sequel.
Postal, any Postal, anything like Postal, who needs a good game when you can use cats for silencers and dress as a cop.
And, of course, Duke Nukem, A sequel's in the works and needs to be finished as the greatest game ever made in the history of man or I swear every fan in the world will kill and eat the developers for making everybody wait a decade.

Freelancer 2. A rare instance where 'bigger, shinier, more of the same' is something I can dig.

Golden Sun 3. Make it a trilogy and wrap it all up.

Jade Empire 2. I heard they're making a sequel. Just let it be better than the first.

We need to rebuild Bullfrog and Looking Glass Studios so we can get (more) sequels to Dungeon Keeper, Syndicate, Thief, System Shock. And hopefully people will buy them this time.

Planescape.

To agree/disagree with some previous posters, and to add my own:

Perfect Dark, Freelancer, and Golden Sun need good sequels, but I don't think FF: Tactics really needs one. I mean, the story was concluded nicely in the first one.
Ramza and his sister live, Delita and the princess die. That's my take on it anyway; some people want to believe that Delita lived too.
I would like to see another game in the same setting (Ivalice with no monster-people nonsense).

Shadowrun for the Sega Genesis. It really kept the feel of the original game intact, but I would like to be able to chose my race.

Final Fantasy Tactics 2 - these "Advance" versions don't exist, at least not in the same realm of depth and story as the first...
Abso-fucking-lutely! I'd also love for Xenogears to get a true prequel; Xenosaga was cool, but really pales in comparison.

Some people also argue that the princess lives, based on the fact that she's one of two characters in the entire game without a death scream.

I know it's been said but any discussion of sequels is incomplete without mentioning Beyond Good and Evil 2. The first game was fresh, funky, original and had a cliffhanger ending.

Oh, and first post btw!

On the subject of a System Shock 3, I read somewhere that EA recently renewed their copyright on it. Whether that's a sign that they plan to release something I don't know, but we can dream at least.

I'm sure this is a repeat thread?

Anyway; I personally would love to see a decent sequel to Freelancer. However, the studios which really created it (mainly Anvil?) have broken up since the release, so it will be hard to find a team which can really emulate the true atmosphere that game carried really well. Secondly, it wouldn't be a direct sequel, fer sure. After all, Freelancer was a sequel to 'Starlancer', which was a more linear game focused on the war between the Coalition and the Alliance. Due to the 'be all and end all' of the closing moments of Free', it appears that a game which follows the further adventures of Trent in the same universe would be very hard to do, especially considering the number of things the player can do after the main story concludes. Picking up a tale furthering from that, would mean trying to combine thousands of possible threads into one, clear story; a nigh on impossible task - especially given the already huge manpower it would take to even consider building a sequel.

I'd still love to see it, mind.

Also: Banjo Threeie plx!?

Shenmue... even though I disliked the direction they took at the end of the second one.

... I made a much longer post, but you know what? Magical swords have as much place in this series as space marmuts.
