for some reason bioshock was just so stupid. it was to far easy. i did love how it was very the characters, the radio jornals, and everything that seemed very "masterpiece-ish". though i would rather get bioshock for 10$ when i'm 16 or 17.

Fable on PC was kind of a let-down. I remember also seeing my friend play GTA 3 on the PS2 and I was like WOA!! this is awesome, but when I actually played it myself I felt like throwing up.

Was somewhat disappointed by the latest Metroid Prime game. It's still good, but there's more a feeling that one is being led by the nose rather than left to get on with it which really doesn't sit well in a Metroid game.

I was really looking forward to the Elder Scrolls series, but those games just don`t do it for me. I guess I`m just used to actually being given a path that has a straight line, whether or not you have to follow it. Also, they seemed to combine the ability for monsters to level with you and the ability to level through Speechcraft and other things that you don`t use in combat. I`m not sure if they mixed as well as they should have.

Oh I forgot FF12.

Did the new battle system really kill it that much? For me it was just the whole setting and storyline to be honest. I thought a few of the characters seemed a little bland, and somewhat like a few of the other members of your group who seemed exactly the same way.

The charatcers were good enough better than X's, even the real time combat stuff was not hat bad...what killed it for me was the bland equip sets and broken skill/class system.

What games I was disappointed in mmmm
DOOM3 is still my all time biggest disappointment
(its not doom its a interactive movie..... in the dark...in a hall way)

Most of these games have flawed or broken gameplay design

Dues ex 2

Quake 4

Bioshock

Unreal 2

Jericho

Castelvina LOI/COD

Halo

Oblivion

Dungeon siege 2

FF8

FFX

and a dozen more subpar titles the industry has claimed to be grade A.

I'm sorry but I could barely make any sense of what you wrote Jrod. The stickies of the forums clearly say that you should read over your thread before you post so that it makes sense and doesn't have a gross amount of spelling errors. I'm not flaming you, but if you fix the errors, we all might be able to understand what you are trying to say.

The entire halo series is probably the biggest letdown to me. Bungie just seemed to steal ideas from better shooters, dumb them down, and throw them on a game with a sub par sci-fi plot and frankly a terrible campaign. Well, not terrible, but if a game is getting loads of excellent reviews and has its' OWN FUCKING SODA it should be the greatest thing in the world.

as for other games, I'd say warhawk was an disappointment to me. Maybe it's just because I'm terrible at that game, but ever since I got call of duty 4 every other multiplayer game seems lacking.
Everyone seems to have a problem with a oblivion, but I really love that game, even for it's respective weaknesses. Morrowind as well, though disappointed in some ways. I really enjoyed each game's sense of freedom, and the depth of cyrodil and morrowind are both incredible. But each game has something it's lacking. For morrowind, I was at first turned off by the fact that the main quest didn't really get going until about 10 hours into the game. I s'pose that's fine, seeing as the main point of the game is to do whatever you want regardless of the story, but for some gamers that can be a turn off. I also think that there's more realism in oblivion than morrowind. For example, the fact that the theives guild and dark brotherhood are accessible to everyone in morrowind seems kind of strange. To think that congregations of theives and assassins would be in plain sight of the public just seems funny. But the leveling system in oblivion is just stupid. At first, everything just seemed too easy to me, so I cranked up the difficulty a bit, and then I could barely kill the fucking wolves and imps. frusterating.

OBLIVION!

Jesus. I thought this game was going to be the end all and the rebirth of the WRPG.

It was like Morrowind lite.

Well there is always Fallout 3!

Oh wait, Bethesda is making that also...

:(

TF2- Wat a let-down. no where near as good as the original. its just not fun
Erm, isn't it basically the same game as QWTF without the nades and slightly smaller maps? I'm not seeing your point here.

Maybe it's just me being extremely jaded, but there are few games that really didn't reach my expectations was Freelancer. It could've been the next Elite, but it had some of the silliest gameplay decisions, like having to level up to get to the bigger ships, in it. Tabula Rasa? Well, I was expecting a bit more of an effort than just WoW with laggy twitch gameplay. Not gonna pay a monthly fee for that. Oh, and Quake IV. They ruined the biggest plot twist in the some of the introductory videos. Also, they could've done so much more with the whole stroggification thing. Bah.

Seeing people list games like Hellgate: London and then accusing them for being...well, exactly as advertised (in this case, a 3D version of Diablo) is just weird.
