I've seen alot of threads here point out games that you didn't like which were portrayed as popular so how about the opposite. What game(s) did you like that gaming society in general condemned as horrid. (I checked, last thread for this was a year ago.)
For it would have to be Clive Barker's Jericho. It's like a one player Team Fortress 2, with class based combat and strategy. The story isn't all that deep really, some task force is sent to stop a demon but gets into more trouble but then, who cares. It's just alot of fun and each situation requires you to rely on a different team members skill. You have two healers, a priest with interchangeable rounds, a lady that controls time, a convict with a weapon for a hand, etc. It's dark and entertaining. I'm not clear on why it received such horrible reviews.
