Tenchu Z and the Dynasty Warriors series. Both are games that have dated graphics and gameplay that really needs an overhaul and the stories are rediculos but to me there good mindless fun. Tenchu Z is just sneaking around and killing people and dyansty warriors is you beathing the shit out of thousands! of enemies. The lack of story and bare bones presentation means that theres nothing to get in the way of me and my fun.
Seconded for Dynasty Warriors. Everyone says it's too easy and mindless, but sometimes, I don't want to master complex combos and various dodge abilities a la God of War or Devil May Cry. I just want to press Square repeatedly and watch everything die. Having a sort of strategy-based map system also helped in my opinion. Having to move with the flow of combat. Made you feel like you were actually in a war zone.

Barring that, playing as Lu Bu after so many times he kicked your ass was so very satisfying.
I've said it once and i'll say it again:

There is no shame in shitting yourself when Lu Bu appears

I've found everyone in my real life hates CoD: WaW, yet I love it, but I have found a small sect of people who adore the game here.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate. I had a lot of fun playing that game through. Haven't played it in a long while though.

Unless it's Dynasty Warriors 5 and you're playing as Zuo Ci, arguably the most overpowered character ever.

The new Bionic Commando.

The story was a complete train wreck (and there was way too much of it), but the gameplay was very very enjoyable. Swinging around a city at high speeds without a red jumpsuit never gets old.

P.S. Since when do people hate Mirror's Edge? I loved it, and I haven't talked to anyone who thought it actually sucked. The biggest complaint I heard was the length of it.

Eh, I really liked this game called Aquanox and its sequel Aquanox 2: Revelations. It was a kind of underwater shooter that involved submarine maneuvers crossed with joystick jockeying.

There was also Darkstar One which I'm fairly sure no one else played but was the only space flight sim that I'd gotten a hold of since Freelancer.

Finally HAWX, I'm not too sure if this game was panned by everyone, but it sure didn't create a big splash.

Yeah I'm a joystick jockey, and damn proud.

Gonna sound lame, but: Animal Crossing. *shrugs* I just like that whole aspect for some reason.
Have to agree with you on that, but I don't really hear much from people who hate it. Just from people who are indifferent.

"Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg," was fun.

Metro 2033.

I don't understand why people say it's broken and has terrible controls? They are near perfect, similar to CoD so it's not a problem of adjusting. Then people complain about alot of things which make no sense.

Enemies have too much health? Hell no most die with one headshot from your basic revolver! Are they wearing armor? Well shoot the gaps in their armor, your shotgun is most definitely not going to penetrate thick metal armor!

I thought that Metro was a great shooter with an even greater atmosphere. You really get drawn in while playing it. The makers had such a great eye for details which add to the experience, but most won't notice while they rush through the game like it was CoD: Post Nuclear Apocalypse Warfare or something.

Sonic Adventure 2. Probably one of my favourite games ever, I wasn't even aware people dislike it so much until I became more net savvy.
Phantom Crash- an awesome mecha, rumble area, anime style game on the original xBox that NOBODY bought. I would still be playing it now, it was the only original xbox game I kept in my collection, only the 360 has no backwards compatability.
No, it does -not-.
Saints Row 2. Can't even remember why I first played it but as soon as I discovered your gangster in training could have a thug London accent, I fell in love with that game. So much better than GTA, and funny as hell. Only with the London voice though, otherwise it goes from being The Italian Job to 50 Cent.
Okay one more; Apollo Ace Attorney. I've heard so many people complaining about replacing all the old characters, but I found the new ones pretty endearing where it counted, and the last case makes up for a lot. No Edgeworth though...sad face.

If this is true, every review I have heard about Metro 2033 has been a lie. To LoveFilm!

Finally someone else who also likes Bionic Commando. I really enjoyed that game. The swinging was very cool and fun to do, but the shooting was just ok, passable. It's just a shame that the game couldn't be a little less linear or even open world. Also, I was pumped for 4 player split screen high speed swinging deathmatches, but sadly no local multiplayer made it into the game.

Jet Li: Rise to Honor comes to mind. For some reason a lot of people hated it, but I thought it was fun. I liked how they made a rather flexible fighting system that only utilized 3 parts of the controller, L1, R1, and the right analogue stick.
