F-Zero GX come to my mind. Seriously that game was speedy and hell to the point that I keep crashing in this track due to the way it twist and turn and the marking on the track it made my mind go derp.

Day Z.

Pretty much the only game to make my heart accelerate to uncomfortable levels and to give me the shakes after a firefight.

a) It's multiplayer, so you're up against ostensibly intelligent opponents.
b) You can be engaged upon at anytime from anywhere by anybody.
c) You can die from one shot. (Although it's not a sure thing.)
d) Dying means losing all your stuff. This could involve weeks worth of gathering.
e) It's based on a military sim game, so it has convincing sound effects when you get fired upon. You really hear the crack as those bullets pass by.

The closest second I can think of is Mirror's Edge. Charging through brightly lit office buildings, vaulting obstacles and frantically seeking an exit as heavily armed cops burst in and the bullets fly was always a treat.

Sadly, I've played that game enough times that I know it all by heart which severely curtails the intensity.

Usually it's any fast-paced multiplayer game, Starcraft 2, Smite, Battlefield 3, Street Fighter 4 all give me an adrenaline rush when i find the right opponent/s, but there are very few single player games that manage to do that, the one game that always succeeded at giving me an adrenaline rush was Vanquish, the stylish high speed action and spectacular moves specially in the challenge levels were a blast.

Tell Tale?s The Walking Dead
Spec Ops: The Line
Dreamfall
The Wolf Among Us
Valkyria Chronicles 1 & 2
ObsCure 2
Fallout 3
Resident Evil: CVX

I don?t know if it constitutes as adrenaline, but these games gave me an unexplainable high that I often get when being depressed. There?s at least one part in these games that make me feel so bad that I somehow feel good.

Competitive fighting games give you an actual adrenaline rush coupled with sweaty palms, raised heartbeat and shaking hands.

The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction
Here you are, smashing shit up like you own the place... Next thing you know, the military's trying to shoot you down and kill you where you stand... Once they seem like they have you on the ropes, you pull out the big guns... "HULK SMASH!" KABOOM!! Shockwaves kill off any military personal surrounding you and you go back to smashing more shit like you own the place... The cycle continues...

Other than that, the Dance Dance Revolution can be summed up as "keep up with the beat or fail trying" the higher the difficulty is... and I love this series for it... Sure, you can press a button really fast and/or react almost instinctually, but can your entire body move as fast or react as instinctually as your fingers? That, to me, is gaming adrenalin at its finest... unless you don't like rhythm-based games in general, I guess...

I'm already having nightmares of Bloodborne doing that in 9 days.

Otherwise DMC4, Bayonetta 2, W101, and Metal Gear Rising are good providers of such rushes. And mostly for it's large enemy encounters, Monster Hunter and Dragons Dogma. Climbing on to a grounded Griffin only for it to take you into the sky with him while you chip at his toenails is way beyond a cheap thrill.

Poker gives me an adrenaline rush like nothing else. I've barred myself from playing it, because I find it very addictive.

The Silent Hill series, well number 1, 2 and 3, give me an intense adrenaline rush. I think a lot of horror games do. Dead Space as well. Alien v Predator 2 as the marine is up there as well.

Some people say first person shooters do, but as a big fps player I've never experienced it.

For me it's World of Tanks, probably owing to my habit of favouring the faster Scouting & Flanking tanks (the Pz.I C in particular)

Whether it's hiding in cover, spotting enemy tanks for my team, knowing that any moment I might be spotted myself and ending up having to run from a hailstorm of shells...

...Or charging out of cover, gunning down an enemy tank, drifting behind a 2nd one, watching said 2nd enemy lose half his health from friendly fire from his over-eager allies, finishing the job and then racing back out of sight before they can reposition.

Sometimes after a particularly intense match I have to just quit the game and relax a bit because I feel like any more excitement would make my heart burst through my ribcage.
That reminds me a bit of Twisted Metal. I always have more fun picking the motorcyle because he's faster and his low amount of health means hit and run is usually your best offense.

Mirror's Edge. I can see why people don't like that it is first person but I love it and think being in first person as-well as the camera shake, breathing sounds and ability to see your arms and legs makes a huge difference. Sprinting across the rooftops as bullets hit the ground around you is easy to get into in this game. I want more first person parkour games like it though preferably longer with less cringe inducing dialogue.

Edit: Also Super Hexagon because of the music, flashing lights, fast pace and difficulty.

Biometal. Just so much happening, and when you find yourself doddging all the bullets it's just a great buzz.

Play the Japanese version too so you're not tortured by the awful 2 Unlimited music.......

Ditto with Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction, that's one game where I constantly have to move and smash in every mission so much so that I get physically sore every time I play it.

Team Fortress 2, for all the up to 60 minutes I can play it at a time before quitting because of the other players being retardedly incompetent. Especially Capture the Flag, when you manage to get the flag out of the enemy's side and into no man's land is quite the feels. I tend to play as Scout, which only strengthens the tension when you're so weak yet so mobile.

I would agree that Hotline Miami gives me an adrenaline rush, but it is never very long lasting because I find it is hard to feel pumped up when you die. When you clear an entire floor in one combo and you are sitting, waiting for the combo multiplier to pop-up rewarding your excellent planning and reaction time you can't help but feel a little rush. As much as I am enjoying Hotline 2 I feel that this feeling is limited since many of the floors feel like it is insanely unlikely to clear out everyone in a single chain, but the 1 or 2 times I did it was extremely rewarding.

Another game I get adrenaline rushes from is Max Payne 3. I managed to beat New York Minute Hardcore mode last summer and to succeed in that mode you have to sort of play the game in the same way you play Hotline Miami: you rush into rooms full of enemies and have to use your various abilities to kill everyone before they stop you and by requiring you to avoid cover unless absolutely necessary you really get an adrenaline rush, especially during big shoot outs when you dive into a room full of people with guns and manage to stop them all before you touch the ground.

Playing "Red Fraction" by Mell in Audiosurf pretty much gives me an instantaneous adrenaline spike upon playing (the song on its own does the same).

Chu Chu Rocket, that game is played at such a pace and plays so quickly it always gives me an incredible rush. Sega missed a trick porting it only to portable devices, it just isn't the same thing at all till you get 4 people in a room on the same screen.

Other than that it's only board and card games. Space Alert and Android: Netrunner for different reasons always give me a rush.

I can second this; TF2 gives me a rush like no other because I'm SO ready to go and get shit done and playing as the Scout makes me feel like the Flash and everything else is just SO SLOW.

I'll also add that Alien: Isolation really put me on edge. Every time I even THINK about playing that game, it pumps me up and I'm ready to furiously mash buttons to GTFO
