What were the first games you started playing, that lead to this depressing anti-social(AWESOME) lifestyle?

for me it was Counter-strike, Diablo and super mario 64 + MISCHIEF MAKERS (man i loved that game)

Oh yeah, I'm 19, which is the main reason to why i don't recall playing SNES (I know i played it)

and SUPER MARIO PARTY on the N64, man that game was expensive due to destroyed analogs in the tug of war

Wow way to make me feel old (heck i haven't even hit 20 yet). The oldest game I remember playing would be Rick Dangerous, little side scroller thing that took up 2 or 3 floopy drives I believe, but the first ones that really did it were Total Annihilation, and the first AOE, and Banjo Kazooie on the 64.

I played NES and the SNES like it was my job as a kid. Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Land were my two favorite games. I was mainly console until 2003. For my birthday I got Planetside and that changed my gaming life (and my life). Before this game I played stuff like Age of Empires and The Sims but Planetside being an MMO got me exposed to so much. From then I consider myself mainly a PC gamer.

street fighter got me into it. Power gamed in Everquest, spending 36 hours straight in Solusek A, king room, fueled by a large pizza and 2 liter coke and probably with the best group I ever had.

For me it was a game made by Brøderbund in 1990 called Prince of Persia. When I was 7 years old.
C:\
cd games
cd pop
pop.exe

Then it was Blues Brothers, 1991.

I never had a console. And good is that. If I had joined with the other kids to play whatever Nintendo had cooked up, I might've never gotten to play games like Civilization. The PC has always been the one spot for intelligent games.

Ahh... Super Mario World, for the SNES. My very first video game, along with Street Fighter, and barring Tetris, which I never really played.
I think my happiest memory is of playing SMW with my sister.
Well, I got a N64 next, and then I started gaming proper.

Captain Claw, Fighting Force, Crash Bandicoot and Tekken 3. After that I was oficially a gamer. I only became aware of the fact two years ago. Now I'm even more of a game nerd.

Super Mario World for SNES. I still remember i could never finish part of the forest of illusion for the longest time, always had to get my older cousin to come over and do it for me. Oh and also the level called "soda lake" i think it was called, that one level out in the middle of nowhere in the water.

Missile Command.
The first 3 Duke Nukem games.
Monster Bash. (For DOS... Those were the days. *contented-sigh*)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles Collection. (I have the CD for the PC version of that game. <3 )
Total Annihilation. (to this day, it's still one of my favourite games. :D )
