I threw my stylus once playing Trauma Team:Under the Knife on HARD mode after trying for an hour straight to do a liver transplant(can't remember the name)...A Stylus is a controller! Of...sorts!

I rarely get mad enough to throw a controller, but it recently happened to me, for the first time in 10 or 11 years. it wasn't so much a "throw" as it was an "angrily placing down" on a padded object (my carpet)

I just finished star ocean the last hope. overall game was pretty easy, but there's this one single part on the second disc that i received 4 or 5 consecutive game overs on; and this was the only part in the game in which my entire party died (including the final boss, which was a bit too easy) where you have to fight through 10 waves of these "phantom soldier" things that relate to the plot line. They have extremely high defense, and they only take serious damage if you can get a critical strike on them (1.5k damage for a crit, 10-20 damage if not). getting critical strikes isn't that hard, but for some strange reason, every single time it hit the 8 or 9th wave, every single enemy would target my healer, then only target my healer after i resurrected her. when not alive, they would only attack my character. it's hard to imagine, but this would lead to total party death almost every time, after 3-4 minutes of a game of tag. game of tag being, kill the healer, res the healer, kill the healer, res the healer, etc, until i was out of res items.

but seriously, everything besides that part is a breeze to get through.

never thrown one, but the closest I've ever been is the meat circus in psychonauts. the jumping puzzle was driving me nuts, then I remembered you've got a floating bubble, that helped. oh, and shifting sand lands in mario 64. no. never again

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet.

Super Mario: Sunshine, almost every one of those segments without FLUDD? Fuck indeed.

But even then I don't remember actually throwing my controller, just tryng to strangle it.

What Games have made you throw your controller.

I was playing Fire Emblem: the sacred stones on hard (after beating it on normal), and after playing the same map 15 times, I always seemed to lose a character. Now, I am not a violent person normally but I had thrown my DS across the room.
Jak 2 and CoD4's "One Shot, One Kill" mission on Veteran. Both have frustrated me to the point of not only throwing my controller, but in CoD4's case BITING it. I've manage to beat Jak, but "OS,OK" will forever elude me *twitch*

Soul Cailbur, because when you're playing against someone and find that they have managed to knock you into a pit JUST as you were about to kill them, that gets you to the point of screaming.

Modern Warfare 2.

Almost nothing else, actually.

Just how fucking broken that game is, everything from the gun balancing, to connection issues, to host migration, to the abominable spawnsystem just rubs me the wrong way. I have been known to unleash wrath when playing it. Just as well someone took it off me until I cool down.

I already lost a £30-odd controller to the Ward's broken shit, and a £10 keyboard.

Boss fight in Rayman 3. You have to fight him while doing psuedo-3D platforming without the benefit of a shadow. I was really digging that game, too.....

None, because I'm collected enough to not damage hardware in fits of rage.

I came damn close to it in the last level of Braid, though, all because I was climbing a ladder the wrong way and didn't realize it.

I remember that there were some frustrating games that made me throw my controller, but that nothing.
I once had a stupid Duck Dodgers game on the old brick that was the Game Boy.
It made me so god damn angry I actually headbutted the god damn screen and broke it.
...I still have no idea why I headbutted it, but there.

Street Fighter IV.
I'm pretty sure that was the only game to do that for me, as far as I remember. Then I played Tekken 6 and was goddamn INSULTED at the even cheaper final boss. Now I regard Seth as at least a fighter within your limits....barely.

DK 64 for the N64.

As the kong with pigtails who can hover by spinning around. There was a jack-in-the-box boss who you had to beat. Took be like a week of solid attempts. I throw my controller several times because frustratingly it wasnt very hard. I just kept making stupid little mistakes and a power cut.

I went 3 days without playing it then came down on Sunday morning an aced it in about 2 mins without taking a hit. That nearly caused me to throw my controller again at how easy it had been the time I actually did it -.-

Its mostly shooters that do it for me. I just remembered another infuriating controller throw I had.
Playing SPEC OPS mode in MW2 without a partner ( no XBL ). "Snatch and grab" was a bad one, I would take my time making sure every single guy stayed down.. then sniped out all the juggernauts... but for some odd reason more would come and merk me at the end. I thought there were only 2, but Im sure I faced about 4 or 5 each time. Or maybe I didn't kill them properly. Anyway its a pain facing 2 or 3 of them without a partner.

Homeland security was pretty bad too, you would be rushing adrenaline off of your head with the body count winding down and some twat just sneaks around back and knifes you to death. Come to think of it MW2 nearly drove me insane with that. I was almost in tears like on of those kids in the halo freak outs. OCD'S a *****.
