Y'know, I don't think I've ever cried to a video game scene...

And this is coming from someone who always teared up when Ash released one of his pokémon in the first few series of the anime... or whenever there was a touching montage (like when Ash is willing to release Pikachu in "Pikachu's Goodbye" or night time sequence in "Charizard Chills")

Yea, I like to b'awwww...

I can think of two moments.

My first was Earthbound:

When Ness takes Paula back to the kindergarten school and they both can't confess their undying love for eachother just made me so sad. It's such a touching moment that tears of pure joy just streamed down my face as I smiled. I still get teary eyed when I hear "Because I Love You" and it's one of my favorite video game songs of all time.

My second was FFVII with RedXIII and Bugenhagen:

When Bugenhagen finally dies near the end of the game. Such a touching scene where Bugenhagen just poors his soul into his final words and RedXIII is near bawling his eyes out. Then, when he meets back up with your party, he doesn't have the strength to tell anyone else what had happened, let alone put another burden on the partys' hearts, and settles on saying that his grandfather wished them all good luck. It was just so terribly touching.

I think Final Fantasy XIII's ending would have made me cry, had the volume on my TV been high enough to actually hear everyone.
Just the subtitles made me come close enough to crying.

The ending of Half Life 2: Episode 2 made me pretty sad too. I'm guessing most people here know why.

Dude, when Ash released Butterfree to go with the rest of the Butterfrees because he thought he'd be happier?

Fucking hell... that scene is almost as sad as the near final scenes in the mewtwo movie.

OT:

The Red Dead Redemption credits. I wasn't expecting the song.

I got a little teary eyed during the ending of MGS4, before the ACTUAL end, as well at the end of Uncharted 2.

I cried during the end of Final Fantasy X... even when I saw it coming.

There, I said it.

-gears of war 2: about 5 minutes after carmine dies. at first i hated how annoying he was in a funny way, but after he died, god dammit, i miss him

-mafia II; about a minute after Marty died. it broke my heart to see the humorous and fun character cry and go into an alcoholic depression like i have seen and done myself. and there was also the carmine effect. Marty bugged the hell out of me when i first met him, but right before the mission where he was killed, i was beginning to love him like a younger brother.

Not full sobbing but i did have tears in my eyes at the end of Crisis Core :( poor Zack
This. Just this. The game itself was mediocre but they handled that amazingly.

Captcha : Kingshot Man. Interesting.

Persona 4. That game went from happy to incredibly sad and then back to happy quite quickly. This scene in particular was quite the tear jerker for me.

especially the part where Dojima went after the killer. "who gave him permission to kill Nanako?!" And "Why is he alive when Nanako's dead?" are some lines I don't think I'll ever forget.

Anyone think the Escapist's forum seems to cycle through a certain few questions over and over? "Worst game", "What do you think about women in gaming communities", "Scariest game", "Favorite weapon", "Best game soundtrack", and of course "What's made you cry"

Anyway, for me it'd be Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, as a confirmed one. Others I can't remember for sure, Braid (ending), Aquaria (reaching the surface), and possibly my replay of Final Fantasy 7 (obvious)
