I got back into Mount&Blade after having put it down for a couple of months and I've probably spent 40 or 50 hours playing it just in the last week. Of course, playing any one game for that extreme a length of time is just asking for bizarre effects on the psyche, and sure enough, last night I had a dream in which I was a character in a live-action take on the game (funny, because in real life I'm afraid of horses yet I was riding one like a medieval knight, complete with the shiny plate armor). I have no bloody clue just how my brain was deciding to progress the story in such an open-ended game (and dreams have a nasty habit of fading into incoherence within 5 or 10 minutes of waking up), but I did wake up thinking "what the hell was that all about?"

Now then, point for discussion: Share your stories of game invasions of your slumber.

My video gaming always mixes with school work in my dreams. So in my dream I'll be at a computer trying to implement concurrent execution of the Swedish army's line infantry (been playing a lot of total war).

Usually any new game that I become immersed in gets into my dreams. Latest one was Mass Effect, in which I was a Turian C-Sec officer. Possibly Garrus. Nothing really happened, the whole dream was basicly my Turian self walking around in which I can only guess was the Citadel.

Come to think of it, none of my gaming dreams are really that intresting.

Funny...Just this night I had a dream about the TF2 sniper trying to assassinate me for some East-European gang, because I knew too much. But what I knew wasn't in the dream...

You've just hit on a large part of reason I decided at a very young age that I would never marry a psychiatrist. I don't want to imagine sleeping next to someone with a psychology degree---I'd develop a severe paranoia about making sure she fell asleep first!

Usualy new games that I had been waiting for for ages.
Fallout 3 did it. Oblivion did it. Fable 2 did it. Saints Row 2 did it.
Just a whole bunch of 'em.

DDO. A bad PuG (pck up group), no DPS, and I am eating through scrolls like there is no tomorrow. My repair bill is going to be outrageous, I'm out of supplies, and people are dropping like flies.

I go to bed wondering what I could have done better, and slowly I dream of Stormreach...

OMG my dreams are far too bizzarre to share. You'd all think I was really honestly loony.
However DDO does invade my dreams. Heck if I've been playing for a good stretch before bed it will often dominate my dreams. One night I even dreamt up an entire new quest for DDO and I think it would really make a great quest if any developer would listen.

You talk to a guy who charges 15000 plat per person to ride upon a white dragon to transport you somewhere, that part was too far in and I'd woken already. In my dream someone on the server was setting up this raid and offering to pay everyone's way. So I joined. You get on the dragon and are seated on a bench that is in a kind of like boat on the dragons back. There are three sections across with three benches per section. However to run the quest properly there has to be at least one caster and one cleric per section, as there will be battle upon the journey.

Beyond that I don't remember much. But I remember that we had at least 2 epic battles on the journey to this place we were going and that once there we would be able to do many other quests. So I guess you could say it was a quest to get to a new area. Very cool. Non-existant but cool.

Don't marry one anyways. They analyze everything.

Yep been there too. First time through Coal Chamber with guildies I'd never run with. They zerg and I'm fumbling trying to keep up. They complete the quest before I ever make the climb and I feel like crap. Go to bed and have full on nighmares about that quest all night. ugh

RuneScape.
Once I dream't that RS blended in with normal life. Was at Coles, tried to pay 200 gp for a can of V. The guy said that I didn't have enough. I then threatened him with a Dragon Scimitar to the neck. :)

i havent played fallout 3 for weeks but it was in my dream last night, some orc thing was on a turret so i hid behind a tree and sniped him, then one chased after me and my dog was left behind so i went to get him but he died in my arms, then we kept running and i left someone else , as soon is we escaped i went to a scrapyard and found the person that i left behind. i havent seen this person (in the real world) for 4 years, anyway her one eye was white because she got tortured and she was blind, then i cryed in my dream and in real life. and thats when i woke up.
it was soooo stange....

Had a Halo Wars dream before I even knew about Halo Wars. Now that I played it I found out that even my dream had a better storyline than that game;)
