The good ending of Bioshock gave me a bunch of warm fuzzies and dammit, if Half-Life 2: Episode 2's ending didn't make you feel at least chills up your spine then you don't have a soul. Countdown to person saying "I didn't feel anything" because they're trying to sound cool in 5...4...3...2...1

I know it's gonna sound shitty now and could easily get alot of flak for it, but when I was like ten or sumthin the end of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile actually brought tears to my eyes. There, I said it.

Mass Effect 1 & 2, BioShock, the Half Life series and Modern Warfare 1 & 2 all struck a cord with me, but I think the game that effected me the most is shockingly Perfect Dark Zero. Now before everyone starts screaming at me "that game sucks", "Microsoft ruined the series" etc., the reason is effected me so greatly is because it inspired me to start writing my own books. I already know what you're thinking; "Soren, that gamed sucked and it's story was a piece of shit!" Yeah, I admit that the game isn't the greatest out there and the story isn't all that much either, but there were two huge things that really got to me.
The first was Miss Joanna Dark herself. To me, she's pretty much the greatest female protagonist out there and she's many things I've always wanted to be but could never become. The second was the year it was set in. I didn't (and still don't) think 2020 was far enough in the future to have all that fun junk they have. So, with the coolest heroine and a 'right' future date in mind, I set to write up my own books.
Currently I have two finished & unpublished books written up that were inspired by PDZ, and a third that I've started work on.

I never played system shock 2 but I saw the part where you meet the person on your com in a Top 10 most scary/shocking gaming moments. Now I know guys who have and they told me all about the game but never the spoilers and seeing the reveal left me with a pretty hefty sense of betrayal. I mean the visceral, in your stomach, raging despair betrayal since I knew what you had to go through in the game.

I don't care what anyone says Kratos during the first section of GoW2 and what happens there. He is one of my favourite fatalistic, tragic characters.

Ocarina of Time. I don't care what Roger Ebert says, that game is nothing if not a work of art.

Also Chrono Trigger. And Donkey Kong Country 2 for nostalgic purposes.

Mass Effects 1 + 2, the Half Life Series, Assassins Creed 1 (yet to play 2) and LoZ Twilight Princess all invoked the feeling of awe i.e. "This is a fabulous game."

Oh and there was a moment when I almost punched the TV in what has been my angriest moment in gaming in which sheer white hot fury appeared. Playing NHL 08 and I had played every.single.game in the season and playoffs. It had taken months and I had somehow reached the playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals.
What happened to invoke my fury? Lost in Game 7 in overtime. I swear I cried in fury, frustration and sadness. Just...the never ending hatred I felt for both the game, the console and the San Jose Sharks at that moment could have been used to summon a demon.

Any Bioware game, especially Mass Effect 2.

During the suicide mission Tali died, when she did I shouted "No!" and stoood out of my seat. My brother then ran into my room to see what was wrong. I immediatly reloaded my last save, determined to keep her (and Mordin) alive.

Halflife 2 Episode 2 did a few times.
