Heroes III and IV do that at the ranking when you finish campaigns or scenarios if you cheat.

In Animal Crossing when you reset an annoying Mole called Mr. Resetti comes out of the ground and and talks to you. I dunno if resetting the game is cheating however.
That's exactly what came to my mind.

I think I may have had that same thing happen to me on Super Mario 64. Or maybe my brother just told me about it. I think he got farther in the game than I did. I was little, so it's understandable.

In Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the past. If You'll recall stealing an Item from the ol' town shoppe, and trying to re-enter.

If you don't remember, The clerk calls you a thief, kills you and brands you with the name "THIEF" for the rest of the game. Then again, if you wanna speed up the game and get the bow before even going to the first dungeon and saving yourself 980 rupees, It's not a bad idea.

GTA, it stops you from completing the game 100%, not funny at all but damn annoying if your slightly OCD.

That's the only way of beating him, so technically not a cheat. :p
incorrect, you can actually beat him without changing ports, the game knows if your low on ammo so it spawns boxs whenever you need them, it takes about 50 minutes to beat him though. Trick is to shoot wildly, if you take aim he'll dodge all bullets, shoot wildly around him and he'll dodge into a stray bullet.

In Blizzards Star Craft there a cheat to make all kkyour little characters invincible but in order to beat the terran (human) campain you have to sacrifice a medical chick, so you can't beat the game unless you dissable the cheat.

Also in Psyconauts when you put in a cheat the game yells YOU CHEATED at you. ^.^

In GoldenEye if you had cheats turned on you could only do levels you had already completed but there was a way to turn cheats on during a level by holding L or R and pressing directions on the C and D pad so you could complete levels you couldn't before. that's how i got the 007 agent thing where you can mess with the enemy abilities.

I never did this, but in MGS: The Twin Snakes, during the scene when Ocelot is torturing Snake, you have to do a little minigame to keep Snake's health up, basically keep pushing A to make sure he doesn't run out. At one point Ocelot turns to the camera and says,
"Don't bother using quick-fire either. If you do I'll know."
I never really figured out how quick-fire worked. Still kinda scared me though.

I've yet to fight The End, the game seems to know i'm cheating by dropping a shit load of Spetnaz soldiers in the area, but it doesn't call me an outright cheater.
That happens if you snipe The End while he's in the wheelchair.

Baldur's Gate 2 and some modules NWN do this a bit - if your level is higher than it ought to be, the monsters scale up BIG TIME. I discovered this to my detriment on several occasions. In BG2, it's beholders. In NWN, it's BLACK DRAGONS. Plural.

Sorry, I ment to say "Link's Awakening". My bad
Yeah, that happens in Links Awakening too. That was the first place I'd seen it. I actually found the cheat by accident as I didn't actually think I'd be able to walk out of the shop. I was actually running away from the chickens when I went back into the shop. It actually seemed kinda surreal at the time.

I recall some old 4X space strategy game which would appear to function normally, but would eventually turn un-winable in later stages. However, I believe that had to do with bypassing the copy-protection rather than cheating as such. I don't remember the name, though...
That was the first Master of Orion. It presented the user with a quiz when it loaded. If the user got this quiz wrong, it progressively made the game harder and harder.

Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Spoiler ahead... don't know how to make the block so hoping if you didn't want to read about this game you'll be aware to skip the next part.

When your in the torture room on the table Revoler Ocelot tells you not to try to use auto fire on a controller or he'll know and later when your fighting Pyscho Mantis you have to switch controller ports from 1 to 2 to get an egde on him after you beat him he knows you do it as well.
You are required to switch controller ports no matter what you do at that point. I thought Psycho Mantis came before the torture sequence.
Oh I must have remembered them by the order you first see the rooms my mistake, but I thought you could attempt and have a very low chance of beating Mantis without switching but never attemped myself.

In Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3, if you try to access a Persona that you can't obtain by normal means (I think it's called Universe) The support character (Either Mitsuru or Fuuka) contacts you and goes on about how disapointed they are with you, then the game crashes if you try to attack.
