I always loved that, though.

Actually, on a similar note:

John's own actions were about as close as I've come to tearing up in any video game since Actraiser when I was a kid. I loved the fact that he finally realised he couldn't run, and this was likely his only way to protect his family. At the same time, I really didn't want it to happen.

While this always comes up, to the point of being over done- Mother 3. And this isn't just the ending, the whole game is a complete contrast between Itoi's usual quirky humor and some really heavy depressing stuff. There's a reason this series has the tag lines "Strange, Funny, heart rending" and "No crying until the end"

None.

Games, books and movies have yet to make me cry. I guess I save my tears for real life hardships.

the end of World at War. i wasn't really sad, so much as i was moved. my family is russian and ukrainian, so it meant a lot to me. world at war was the only CoD game i ever played for any real length of time, and it's the only one i still own.

Final Fantasy X's ending made me cry as well. FFX was the first game I played with an actual story (up until then I'd mostly played NIntendo games) so it made a huge impression on me.

I can't remember whether I cried over Beyond Good and Evil's ending, but I sure remember being sad the game was over. God, that was an amazing game.

The ending to Professor Layton and the Lost Future (Unwound Future in North America). Oh, man. All of the Professor Layton games have poignant endings, but this one was a real tearjerker.

The cutscene in World in Conflict where Captain Bannon calls and apologizes to his mom and shes listens to his message after he *spoilers* sacrifices himself at Cascade Falls. Made me imagine what my mom would have to go though if I ever died in war...

I hoped you blamed yourself! You could have saved her if you were good enough!

OT: As alot of people have said Final Fantasy X. I got way too attached to the characters.

I did feel really bad for Snake in MGS4 but no tears there.

Also I have teared up a little from the awesomeness of some games. The ending sections of MGS4 and Okami were just epic.

I fully derive my feeling of masculinity from my ability to not cry over video games! I will now proceed telling you how much of an amazingly tough manly man I am because I've never cried over entertainment. After that I will subtly imply that all you wimps who have cried over video games are basically little girls. After posting this I will feel smugly superior to all those who've admitted over crying because of video games and thus will never be as tough or manly as me!

Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy X... there are parts which are extremely emotionally powerful, from the big reveal in X to Zidane's emotional breakdown in IX.

Persona 3... so many tragic deaths. Metal Gear Solid 3 & 4, especially their endings.
