I agree with this. It gets a bit repetitive after awhile, but somehow no less satisfying, to blow the heads off of feral ghouls and raiders, and to people who are watching it, it's totally kickass
Download mods for it. They make the game infinitely better. They also make it FAR more varied, and far harder.

Dungeon Keeper, for the list of reasons that have already been said.

Max Payne, for being amazing and not being max payne 2. plus, the kung fu mod!

Gears of War, it kinda feels like cheating to add this because the game was designed to be badass from the get go, rather than all the others which we decided were badass. still, you and a friend simultaneously kicking open doors on co-op, buddy movie style, is rediculously badass :)

flat out 2, or ultimate carnage or whatever the version i have is called. running people off the road who try to overtake you, only for them to crash, launch through the windscreen and land under your wheels just wins.

mount&blade has a whole genre of badassery to its self. i dont even need to explain.

the specialists for half life 1.

bloodrayne for the mental mincing up of nazi soldiers in the rage mode or whatever.

battlefield 1942, the best of the series. ramming an aircraft carrier into an enemy battleship, dropping bombs through house windows, buzzing the runway and clipping soldiers out to sea...

jedi knight 2, for the dismemberment. spawn 50 stormtroopers and run at them swinging. fun!

and finally, Total Annihilation. played it? then you know.

Mortal Kombat 2
You serious? The fatalities were great, but the AI would make you feel like a *****. It was infallible, and totally unfair. See: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MKWalker

Still a fun game, though. Nothing like morphing into a dragon and biting the other guy in half.

Ninja Gaiden 2. I love the lightning fast and ultra-stylized combat, that made me feel like a badass.

Gonna throw up Assassin's Creed. Mostly because I got damned good at no-block-spam sword fighting (dodging ftw) and I really enjoy the Parkour. If only I was tha sure-footed.

warhammer 40k games generally have me wandering the house screaming warcries for a few hours too. "For the Emperor!" "Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!" ect.

Fallout 3. There is no greater feeling than sneaking up on a group of Raiders and knifing them all to death without raising the alarm. NO GREATER FEELING. Though the Experimental MIRV does come close.

Goldeneye 007

on maximally tweaked 007 difficulty - i.e. enemies can kill you with one-hit, etc. done with an unlockable screen of sliders.

Well, conquering the mountain in SSX3 was pretty sweet, particularily when playing as Moby after having changes his gears so he looks like a werewolf with horns.

I would imagine that actually having the opposite effect.

Definitely Prototype.

NOTHING CAN PROTECT YOU FROM ME! NOT MEN! NOT WEAPONS! NOT ARMOR!
And then they send three tanks at you: LIKE IT'S GONNA MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

And it's not just empty words...

Not really, because this is on your 4th or 5th play through and you are effectively making the game a Bond simulator. Normally the enemies fire at your chest, not head and deliberately miss with their first shot. Surviving a level having completed all Mission Objectives does make you feel like a total badass, but of course all the endless hours of practise mean that you know what is around the next corner and where to go next.

Speedruns are another way to extend the game's replayability, but I find they undermine its realism.

Hmmmm... Prototype and Halflife 2. Something about those plastic-frame glasses just turns a regular physicist into a total bad ass.

Mmmm... Free-man...

I don't know how many times I've used the power fist while croutching and (in my head) yell Shoryuken
