This happened to me with Pikmin the other night. Sat down to play for about an hour, then realized my entire evening had somehow disappeared...

Minecraft, I played til dawn and it took me a minute to realize that the sun coming up wasn't square.
This. I made the massive mistake of buying Minecraft at 5pm the day before my Psychological Research Methods exam to have something to do (I have a habit of taking the last day before exams free from studying, as it does more bad than good for me to study the day before). Next thing I knew it was 5am and I got 1 hour of sleep. Still got a B though, which is great when I was expecting a C at best.

I also have a real bad habit of this happening in racing games, lastly Forza 4, and before that Racedriver Grid.

But definitely the worst was World of Warcraft. While it never took over my life, there was a period in the autumn of 2005 when I could easily pass the time from after school until 2-3am playing without noticing it was way past a sane persons bedtime. Still took me over a year to reach level 60 on my first char. Don't regret it though, had lots of fun with it, and still go back and try it sometimes, although it's been a couple years now.. Maybe I'll try out MoP after christmas.

Captcha: raspberry tart. And now I'm hungry..

just about every and any game can do this to me if i enjoy it. but i usually do still get hungry and go eat, only to realize as soon as i stand up that i'm not hungry, i'm bloody STARVING.

i tend to set alarms and stuff though when i have something i need to do/somewhere to be

My legs, had died and I had to crawl to the toilet.

Totally worth it
I did the exact same thing once, and had to crawl.... But I was in a cinema with about 50 or 60 people watching me crawl down the center aisle. I died a little inside that day.

I don't tend to play games for all that long so I generally notice what the time is. The fact I have a clock and a phone I regularly check probably helps too.

I don't usually but once I started playing the Mafia 2 free-roam DLC (can't remember its name)and ended up playing it til' around 3am. Apart from that I've never really done it unless I was planning to play a game all night but even then I tend to start playing another one.

Freaking LoL. Those games are so long, thinking "i'll just play one more!" boom it's one in the morning and you haven't eaten tea yet. Ya once you start shaking fucking eat something noob!

Also Persona 4 when I first went through it. JUST ONE MORE DAY. ONE MORE DAY!

Pretty much any game I get into does this to me. If I have something I need to do, I'll glance at the clock regularly and try to stop at a reasonable time. Otherwise, I can just play all day and not even notice. At least, that was the case until I got married and had a kid...now there are no more all day gaming marathons :(

But yeah, any game I play I get into to the point I don't notice time passing and suddenly it has been an hour or two and I need to turn off the game and help with the kid or dinner or something.

Skyrim is the top of the list for me. I'll sit down with that game just to finish up a spare side quest or two and the next thing I know it's 3 hours later and I'm clearing out a random cave for no reason. Fallout: New Vegas was like that with me, also. Except with Vaults, not caves.

I did this with Max Payne 3 the other day, but I don't think it would happen again. I was just enjoying myself, and suddenly realised I'd been on the Xbox for 5 hours, when I only intended to spend an hour on it.

Whoops. Meh. Fun times though. :p

Mostly RPGs, easy enough to waste away a whole afternoon playing without noticing. SRPGs especially as a single mission would only at minimum, be half an hour.

Lately though, Blazblue has been eating up me and my pals time. Practicing and fighting almost all afternoon and into the late night at times. Doing serious fights, practicing combos, arguing about who's cheap ect....

I'll spend a lot of time in training by myself getting timing down and tricky combos and what not.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R with the Complete mod, i can spend hours in that game, creeping along trying not to get noticed by the shambling horror a few feet away from me.

And Guild Wars 2 lately. I boot it up with the intent to just clear 1 heart. 8 hours later, i've done 5 jumping puzzles, cleared 2 maps to 100% and running around finding herbs and ore. Its great fun

Skyrim
Pokemon
Diablo I, II, III
Borderlands 1 and 2

Basically any RPG that really grabs my attention and won't let me go will make me lose track of time. Borderlands 2 is the latest one that has sucked my in and won't let me go since when I get the chance to play it I've been going to bed around 2am.

Arc System Works fighting games like Guilty Gear, Persona 4 Arena, and Blazblue.
I can spend so much time in practice mode, it's ridiculous.
