and another "games that..." thread trundles off the assembly line, smellin' like new electronics.

I'm finding, playing Endless Space (which I so far am enjoying) that I'm talking to myself a lot more than in any other 4X (or indeed any other) game.

This pleases me.

What game makes you talk to yourself?

None. I might utter a curse word or two when I'm playing something difficult like Dark Souls, or say a few words of distaste when I play a game I hate like Dragon Age II, but I really don't talk to myself when I play a game.

I find that every game I play, I talk back to characters or ask the developers why the hell they did stuff. It's pretty much a lets play without recording it.

LoL. It's pretty funny.

"Noooooo keep running Riven! I'm almost there!" *jumps in with the most clutch Paranoia ever*

Nocturne is so awesome. Darkness haterz!

Hell I might join the legions of people making LoL videos once I get a good PC. Might as well record some of the running commentaries I can do.

I probably do it because I play it with my friend over Skype quite a bit and it seeps over to my solo queue antics.

It's probably more of a multiplayer thing, I talked to myself a little bit when I played loads of UMVC3.

Whenever I mess up in a video game, I yell at myself in the third person, as if I was standing in front of myself. It gets really awkward when I have the same name as somebody in team games.

From an occasional curse or utterance of a "yes!", not really.
What I do, however, is that I talk to my dog in Guild Wars 2. Sometimes I /say things to him :)

Apart from swearing when I die for the umpteenth time to something I see is ridiculously unfair and an impediment to my enjoyment of the game I dont talk to myself I mean I know what I am going to say so whats the point?

I guess I'm typically referring to strategy/RPG games where I basically think out loud when switching out stuff/choosing production/upgrades.

Thinking out loud to myself, who is thinking this in the first place.

Ummm....all the time. With almost every game. Usually jokes.
In fact just about always jokes.

"Oh yeah, can't even friggin mine iron in peace with all these DRAGONS freaking annoying!" - Skyrim
"OH GOD IM FREAKINLAGGINGINTEAMFIGHT." - Lol
"...Owned....Owned....Owned...Owned......Extermination. Wut do?" - Halo reach.

All the freaking time. Double so in Amnesia and Dark Souls, two games that are able to get a reaction out of me. Amnesia had me muttering curses under my breath and whenever I felt intelligent in Dark Souls, I would burst out a sentence or two of relief in triumph.

I like to get fully immersed into my games, so when I play, for example, XCOM I talk to myself as if I were actually relaying tactical information.

same thing with dark souls as if I were actually in that scenario.

Any RPG with written dialogue options that I find myself getting sufficiently engrossed by.

I read the dialogue options as I feel my character would say them... and on occasion, like in Dragon Age, I have even adopted a more appropriate accent while doing this.

This is outside of the utterances of curses that I'm likely to do if a game is kicking my ass.

I find the more I get into a game, the more I start yelling at it and things going on in it.

For example: I remember specifically saying "Whatcha' got there buddy? A golf club? Cool, I got a plasma cannon!" while playing Fallout New Vegas.

I usually talk to myself in every game that I play, but I do it more often in puzzle games as I try to solve problems. I usually only go quiet if I'm extremely focused or if I'm trying to hear something in the game.

If I'm playing a game with dialogue but no voice acting, I might read and act it out loud, to improve my English. Since I don't speak it out loud often, my accent is horrendous.

I talk to my X-com characters a lot.
So much so that someone thought I was talking on the phone.
I also scream encouragement to my League of Legends champion.
"You can't escape from me, I'm a horse and I am amazing!"
"Silly Warwick, I'm Nautilus and you do nothing to me."

I counter Nocturne's ult by just turning the brightness up on my monitor. gg

I talk to myself a lot while playing LoL. Or rather I talk at my computer monitor in the vain hope that the cosmos is transmitting the message to my teammate. "No no no no no don't go in no no no don't do it no no no please god no" *frantic b pinging* "OH GOD WHY DID YOU GO IN?! NOOOOOOOOO NONONONONONO!" "An ally has been slain." "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

And in many other games. But mostly LoL.
