If anyone does ever want to play something great with jetpacks then try Tribes: Vengeance. It came out the same year as Half Life 2 so was ignored by lots of people (personally, I prefer Vengeance), and fans of the original games typically hated it because it 'dumbed down' some of the intricacies (read: bugs) found in the originals.

Short story: it has jetpacks, a grappler, and the ability to ski. Along with some massive outdoor levels which could be crossed in seconds with the right level of skill.

Definitly Final Fantasy (oh sorry boss standing there blocking the way until i talk to you, WHOOSH)

There should be an option in every game labeled "Motherf*cking Jetpacks" when you turn it on it goes "Hell Yeah" in the announcers voice from Mortal Combat.

i need that in my life.

It would be cool to get it in a Zelda game. You'd need a lot of limitations on it obviously, but definitely a bonus.
Like Deku Link from Majora's Mask?

Or maybe as a cool gizmo like the spinner.

So I was playing Halo Reach and found the game to only be so so until I found the jetpack. Then I started enjoying myself.

Similarly, I was playing Red Faction Guerilla, and felt the same way until jetpack.

So, where else should we insert jetpacks?
Dark Void.

I don't care if it already has jetpack! Fuck it! Put a jetpack on the jetpack!
I totally thought of Xzibit:

Yo Dawg. We heard you like jetpacking so we put a jetpack, in yo jetpack so you can jetpack while yo jetpack!

Oblivion desperately needs jetpacks.
Indeed, or you just play Fallout with them [http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12895], they fit better, too.

OT: I'll just jump aboard the "Every game ever" train.

I'd like to bring to light an oft-overlooked game that had jetpacks, and was awesome for it.

James Bond: Agent Under Fire - the multiplayer had a rechargeable jetpack and a Q-claw that turned you into Spiderman. Couple those with the Low Gravity cheat and it was an absolutely awesome mid-air melee.

Nope you would be the first. Thanks for the advice, maybe I've been thinking about it the wrong way.

My vote is firmly in the EVERYTHING category.

Except for Jetpac itself. Dude should've done hisself a favour and got some goddamn stepladders.

And possibly car racing sims, just because of the difficulty of integrating it without making them into flying cars instead. In which case, why aren't you playing Wipeout?

And just for extra awesome, let's give one to the goddamn Batman! Let's have a Bat-Pack in Arkham City.

OT: Games with a heavy emphasis on exploration, and sandbox games would benefit from them, but only if they fit with the game itself, and don't break the game by just letting you fly up to the boss and punch him in the face.
Oh my god your avatar is so cute! :D
OT: Every game needs jetpacks. Every game.

Mass effect might be helped by jet packs, not that it needs help though.

*Imagines biotic attacks from the air* *drouls*
That would be interesting, I'll give it that. It would completely invalidate the cover system of ME2 though. Fun to use Lift on enemies on the ground, raising them to the same level as you w/jetpack. Even better: Throw on jetpacking foes. They'd go FAR.

But given how quickly enemy firepower takes you down, you do NOT want to be out of cover for long enough to enjoy the tactical options of a jetpack.
