Games that need minimaps...but don't have them

One word invokes so much rage in me: Overlord.
I picked it up for $5 on Steam one day. It seemed like a fun idea, and it is. I like my little minions, and the world is a refreshing change from my normal grey-and-brown universe. However, the lack of mini map makes me have to actively force myself to play.

I knew it didn't have one when I bought it, but I didn't think it would be such a big deal. Surely the different areas you needed to go to were clearly differentiated near to a central hub, right? Nope.

I know it's been talked about in Overlord before, but I didn't listen then. Can you escapists save me from making the same mistake again? It's not the money I'm worried about, it's that I want to play it, but clearly not enough to spend minute after minute trying to figure out where I should go.

Farcry 2.

Let me check if I'm going the right way *opens map* alright, looks like i need to take a left at the next turn, then a righ..... *drives off cliff cuz the map blocks my view*

I understand the game is suppose to be realistic, but if your gonna make my position move on the paper map, just put it in the corner of the screen.

Alpha protocol. Going back and forth through three menus (all of which take forever to load)is really fucking annoying.

Ugh! If it was realistic, the driver would pull over to look at the map, or put it in the seat beside him.

Driving was spent running into rocks and zebras necause you had the map up all the time.

The only time I didnt use it was when I was shooting for gods sake...
