One word invokes so much rage in me: Overlord.
I picked it up for $5 on Steam one day. It seemed like a fun idea, and it is. I like my little minions, and the world is a refreshing change from my normal grey-and-brown universe. However, the lack of mini map makes me have to actively force myself to play.
I knew it didn't have one when I bought it, but I didn't think it would be such a big deal. Surely the different areas you needed to go to were clearly differentiated near to a central hub, right? Nope.
I know it's been talked about in Overlord before, but I didn't listen then. Can you escapists save me from making the same mistake again? It's not the money I'm worried about, it's that I want to play it, but clearly not enough to spend minute after minute trying to figure out where I should go.
