I can't remember the name of the game but you drove different vehicles and could have 3 weapons attached to it that fired at your enemies. It was for the Nintendo 64 and all I can remember is that me and my friends had lots of fun with it.

James Bond: Everything or Nothing.

This game was amazing arguably the best bond since goldeneye, it had a fantastic cast (Willem Defoe was the bad guy for godsake), great bond theme, animations, vehicle sections, gadgets, it was the real 007 package.

Yet people don't seem to remember it or mention it when they think of 007 games or great 3rd person action games, even the new 007 Daniel Craig game is nigh identical to EoN but there is hardly any mention of EoN being either an influence or being the basis for the new game.

Although I admit the movement from shooting to hand to hand is alot smoother in the new one.

I might buy that game again, now that i'm reminiscing...

Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas

A wonderful simulation of the pirate life. It was wonderfully open ended, but horribly unbalanced and, without proper patching, crawling with bugs.

The atmosphere was just so damn good. I still remember some of the soundbites:
"It's time for some drinkin' and whorin'!"
"AY AY CAPTAIN!"
"Send them to Davy Jones' locker!"

Also, the wonderful artstyle.

Man, I miss that game.

Hogs of War (Worms 3D done correctly), for PC and PS1.
Loved that game. Rik Mayall did the commentary if I remember correctly, right?

Total Annihilation - even better than Red Alert in my opinion.
One of the best games of all time. Still play it to this day, in fact. I managed to pick up the Commander pack on Amazon for only 50 quid about a year ago - couldn't believe my luck.

OT: LEGEND!

I have very fond memories of playing this as a kid.

Emperor of the Fading Suns.

I think sometimes I might be the only person who still plays that game.

And I still love it!

Freelancer anyone?
YES! Oh goodness yes! :D

OT: Otogi: Myth of Demons & it's sequel Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors. Was a pretty decent hack 'n slash game for the time, but it didn't really sell all that well. Still, really enjoyed both of 'em.

So there's a game coming out soon called Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, on the Wii and PS3 which some of you may have heard of. It's kinda like Dynasty Warriors.
The reason I'm saying all this is the fact that when I was looking up about it I've gone 'hang on I know this game! It's Devil Kings with a new name!'
And I LOVE Devil Kings, its one of my favorite games on the PS2, so this got me kind of annoyed. And none of the reviews or comments or anything I've read about it has even mentioned in passing Devil Kings.

So I started this wondering whether there are any games that people forget about that you love? Or has something similar to what I have told happened before that annoyed you?
Devil Kings remains one of my favorite hack and slash games of all time.

That being said, the main reason they changes the title back to the Japanese "Sengoku Basara" for this game was that Devil Kings was technically an incredibly cut down version of the original Sengoku Basara that bombed in the US because they cut too much stuff out when they Americanized it. They removed all semblance of historical reference, removed half the playable characters, and completely rebalanced the game before labeling it Devil Kings and releasing it. Needless to say, the US Sengoku Basara fanbase was pissed off and the game never sold very well. Sadly, because of this negative reception Capcom didn't localize the second and third games... (Samurai Heroes is fourth in the main series)

...Back on topic, Maken X for the Dreamcast.

It's a first person action game released by Atlus with music done by Shoji Meguro (Persona 3, Persona 4). You take command of a demonic sword that has the ability to brainjack normal humans and control them. Once you have control over a person, they act as your player character and you gain all their skills and weapons until you switch bodies again.

It's easily one of the best games on the DS.

lol ok you totally sold me on the idea...i need to get it....reminds me of "Bust a Groove" for the ps1...a game i miss a lot, and damn i wish i didn't get rid of it...it's a bit expensive now, and it has a very catchy soundtrack...that's my contribution "Bust a Groove"

Rollcage was pretty good, Rollcage Stage 2 was amazing. Not only it was a fun futuristic racer, it also was the spritual forerunner to Trackmania's "Plattformer Racing". Always wished for a sequel.

And speaking of sequels:

Dear Sony,

i don't have a Playstation 3. But if you do either a sequel to Colony Wars or G-Police, i will buy one the instant one of these games is released.

Another games i'd come up with:

Down in the Dumps (funny, but i can see why it has been forgotten)
Star Trek Elite Force (a good Star Trek Game, a Good Star Trek Shooter AND a good thing that is based on Star Trek Voyager...it's like some sort of weird miracle thing)
American McGee's Scrapland (once again probably forgotten for good reasons, but sooo much potential)
Starlancer (yep, totally missing Mission-Based Space Combat Games...everyone always seems to remember Freelancer, but not that one)
Ghost in the Shell (okay, if it werent for it's awesome intro, i'd probably would've forgotton it too)
Commanche 4 (The more action oriented, slightly more arcadey sequel to a very old Helicopter Sim)
Advent Rising (like Bungie's Oni, it's not THAT great, but severely underrated and one of these games that would've found awesomeness in an improved sequel)
ESPN Extreme Games & 2Xtreme (They were like the EA Sports BIG Games before there was EA Sports BIG...once again flawed, but i enjoyed both of them very much)
