This thread pops up every week or so, and my answer will always be the same.

No games should be made into movies.

Obligatory "Use the search bar".
Obligatory "Welcome to the escapist".

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus should be movies.
Obligatory "Stop being a douch"
Don't post if you dont like it. As for movies, I wouldn't mind seeing Tenchu made into a movie, if done right. Nothing wrong with Ninja movies at all.

A point which really annoys me to no end. Frankly, it's lazy. What's wrong with casting a British actor to play a British character, or a Russian actor for a Russian character?
I actually agree completely. But Hollywood is lame. Oh well.

Crysis would make an awesome film.

And TF2 would make an awesome machinima sit-com/cartoon comedy.

Yes, but if an actor is talented enough, he could be a non-British actor playing the role of a British guy and he'd not only make it believable, but he'd make it so believable that you'd never guess that he wasn't British.

Gary Oldman comes to mind. That guy can portray almost any role possible.

Hurray for my first post (even if it is only a reply)!

I reckon The Darkness would make a pretty awesome film if it was handled by the right director, James Cameron maybe?

C&C, Half-life, and Warcraft(hell yeah! Bout time they did it!)

I'd agree with Baulder's gate just because I want an R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms movie.

No. The whole emotional experience of SotC comes from having to murder these peaceful creatures. And they're already making one. From the writer of the last Street Fighter movie. I shit you not.
EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE!!

I guess I will say it again. God of War directed by Zack Snyder with Vin Diesel as Kratos. Pure win.
Kratos is black. His body is permanently coated in ash.
No he is not. He is Greek. As in a Spartan. Have you actually looked at Greek people? They are not black.
Okay, sorry. But my point still stands, since Vin Diesel is also not Greek.
Lots of actors are not the nationality that they portray in movies.

I feel compelled to point out that while Kratos may not be black, is voice actor is (saw him in the bit of special features they did on the voice actors in the second one). So I can see why someone might make that assumption. (If you ignore the fact he's spartan, and I can understand why some people may not be particularly interested in the GoW plot.

I'd kill for a KOTOR movie series, it would be nice if Lucas wanted to make another SW film but put it in another timeline.

Dear Jesus,

Please let the perpetrators of the crime quoted above be purged from the Earth before their abomination can be loosed upon the world. Everyone is still busy cleaning up the mess from Street Fighter, and I really think the world has enough problems as it stands.

Sincerely,
Paragon1

P.S. Oh, and could you maybe bump up the release date for Mass Effect 2?
P.P.S. Tell your dad "thanks for making ice cream".

Why not? It is an awesome example of Greek tragedy. Man kills his wife and child in a fit of God induced rage. Tries to find redemption through the very rage that caused him to to kill his wife and child. What a messed up story. It is great.

Sorry for quoting this one twice, but I had a think about it and I'm guessing you picked Zack Snyder because of 300. On that note, I feel compelled to point out that Gerard Butler would probably make a better Kratos than Vin Diesel, but the role might be a bit too similar to Leonidas.

As for director, I'd have to go for Guillermo Del Toro.

I happen to agree with you. However, how many people bought the games for the plot? Never once have I seen the creators try to sell the game through its story, and it was quite a surprise to find that it was actually good. If you'll reread my original statement, you'll notice that I never said the plot was poor, I merely said that I can see why the people playing the game wouldn't be particularly interested in the plot. I'm sure you've met gamers who weren't really interested in the plot of ANY game.
