Freespace 2 - Seriously, that series ended on confusion, why did the Shivans blow up the star, what happened to earth and all that?
If there was any game that could bring back the space shooter it'd be Freespace 3

Arcanum - Steam punk + magic, this game deserved to have it's own series like Fallout, I would love to see something like Skyrim, but with a Victorian Aesthetic.

Mechwarrior 4 - Dammit, I want Battletech back. Curse you intellectual property law
And no, I don't want an MMO, I want a single player campaign with hammy acting!

I'd like to see a Darkest of Days sequel. The story is supposed to continue anyway. Sure the game was pretty awful, but I think it had so much potential. I enjoyed it despite its flaws.

The new Splatterhouse. and it likely never will.

I know that alot of people don't really care about this game but i really enjoyed it. I thought it was fun and hearing the voice of darkwing duck drop F-Bombs and talk about vaginas was satisfying in ways i can't describe.

The main reason it didn't do so well is that for some reason Namco killed funding and advertising for the game when it was about 90% complete. Thats why the game feels buggy and unfinished, because it wasn't. They even were planning on releasing a DLC expansion that deals with the cliff hanger ending and sets the game up for a sequal but that too was killed as was likely the plans to ever make another one.

Its one thing if a game just sucks but Splatterhouse had alot of potential but was shot in the leg before it was ever released and then kicked out into the world and left to die.

Its sad because alot of love went into making the game (you can find the whole sad story here http://splatterhouse.kontek.net/new.html ) and even if the series see's the light of day again it wont be the same creature.

I really enjoyed your little speech.

I bought the game myself about a year ago, when I saw it on a bargain bin. I bought because I remember liking the old arcade games, and I got it more for nostalgia sake than genuine interest in playing the game, so it's been relegated to the midst of my "I'll play later... eventualy" shelf... but you got me curious. If someome can be so passionate and make a well articulate defence of the game, I think it warrants a chance. I've been looking for a new single player game to get into anyway.

You have my thanks.

I can dream, right?
THIS!
However, it will never, ever, ever happen.
I would also like to see Van Buren rather than stupid Fallout 3, I love Fallout 3 but it doesn't seem like Fallout, you know?
Why do you think that? Current market wouldn't enjoy it?
I really doubt the current market would. The game is also ten years old this month, and I believe ( don't go quoting me on this) that the developer was disbanded and split up in '04.

Does anyone remember No One Lives Forever, that fruity game from the late-90's? It was both a beautiful and colorful stealth game that satired spy films by being a hilarious combination of James Bond and Austin Powers. The series has gone silent since No One Lives Forever 2's release in 2002, and left alot of questions unanswered with a good opporitunety for another installment..sadly it's an opporitunety that will probably never come. From what I know the original developer Monolith no longer has the rights to the series as they were purchased into Warner Bros. leaving the IP to Sierra/Vivendi, which has since been merged with Activision. Last I checked originality was never really their thing, so its safe to assume they have no plans with a series like this one.
Its a real shame too..a game like this would be just what the current state of gaming really needs; A departure from the usual military shooters or alien resistance games in favour of something stealthy, colorful, funny and lead by a very sexy and enjoyably believable female character.

Also, this should go without saying: A proper sequal to Duke Nukem 3D. I had nothing against Forever, but I'd like to have a more retro Duke experience..

There was a sequel. I tested it when I was working in the Game business. It was cancelled due to developers giving LucasArts a run around with their money.

The Tenchu series.

Why Activision is sitting on this license I'll never know. A good Tenchu game from them would at least be something new these days & kick major ass.

I would also like to see these games.

Rock and Roll Racing
Megaman Soccer
Killer Instinct
Jet Set Radio Future (game was so fun)
Godhand
The Bouncer
Shinning Force II (a sequel which gives you the 12 man party size and epic multi-tiered battles like the Sega game)

All three of these titles (series in the case of Battlefront) are excellent games and (imo) should have gotten a sequel.
Yes, yes and yes!

Also Timesplitters and a true successor to Def Jam: FFNY. Still one of my favourite fighting games of all time.

Please more Timesplitters. Has there been any news on that? Last I heard the company doing it was going under or on shakey ground but still looking to continue it someway.

Sonic Adventure 3 : With Chao Garden. I know lots hated them but I always enjoyed them and no Shadow or any of the newer sonic don't count. Closest they every got to a awesome 3D sonic if you ask me even if some of the characters where abit cliche or stupid.

Maybe JSRF but what more could it bring, I'd rather just see it updated and brought onto the current console proper.

Other then that I wouldn't want sequels to anything that isn't already in the making, even the above two will likely never match expectations even lose out on the elements that made them great as the team doing it won't be able to capture it right or do it justice. Other then that sequels so often bring dissappointment anyway.
I'd rather see more Remakes that try and maintain the soul of the original while adding many things it lacked, see the psp Megaman X, maintained it's perspective and style while being 3D or the Gamecube enhancements to Resident Evil 1 and MGS both done tastefully, especially RE1 where they added little things to make it more consistent with the newer universe at large.

I might have said Fable III trying to make sense of the "second part" and good, but whats the point that series is only going to decay more and get other silly gimmicks.

TimeSplitters 3
SW: Battlefront 3
SW: Republic Commando 2
Jade Empire 2
Vampire: the masquerade bloodlines
KOTOR 3 ( the mmo definitely doesn't do it for me)

And Finally, Advent Rising, I know alot of people didn't like it due to the numerous bugs and other issues, but personally i loved the game (call it a guilty pleasure but i honestly had tons of fun with it) and have been waiting for a sequel to it (though I'm pretty sure that at this point it will never come T_T

for me, there are two that stand apart from the crowd in this respect.

1) Mirror's Edge.
My Ex's step-mom works at EA Redwood shores and back in 2008 she got hammered and told me that EA was looking into Mirror's Edge 2.

However, that was way back then and no peep from them about it since then, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was shelved for now.

If it helps though, they were seriously considering it =/
