Games that should have been a one-off (beginning, middle and end) in just 1 game.

While watching a Jimquisition‎ vid a while ago about how Ubisoft's comments basically dismissed one off games and would only develop a game that would turn into a franchise. After the Last of Us game, a lot of those who have played it has asked and kind of demanded a squeal to the game but others feel it should just be a one off cause it pretty much satisfied certain people.

So i was wondering and wanted to ask, what are games that you feel should've been a one-off with no sequel or prequel tied to it, where that one game tells the story from its beginning to the end?

Mass effect. Just delete that bit about we need to prepare for the reapers, and it is solid.
Cod 4....although I forget how that ends.

Bioshock...nah, I love bioshock.

The Last of Us is certainly one, however I wouldn't object to a sequel set at least 30 years on or something similar. A cameo appearance or two would be acceptable. The story of Elle and Joel was told, done and dusted.

Defiantly Bioshock, both Infinite and the sequel were disappointing. Infinite looked nice but that combat was so boring.

I thought Gears of War was an awkward one-off. I would have thought there could have been a book or comic explaining what exactly the fuck happened in the beginning of the war but all Gears needed was the first game.

Bioshock would have been a great one-off.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed should have been a fucking anthology: Starkiller only needed one game.

That's all I've got.

Fable didn't really need sequels.

...or maybe it just needed sequels that sucked less.

Not strictly one-off per se, but I wish Infamous had called it a series after 2. It ended perfectly no matter which path you chose, and then they made that shitty vampire themed downloadable and now a full sequel that completely negates the evil ending.
Second Son will probably end up a great game, but to me it has no right to exist.

Also I hope The Last of Us is a one-off. It's perfect as it is, please don't dilute it with another story, especially not another Joel and Ellie story.
