Every time I tried to play through Fallout New Vegas, I would at some point start thinking about Fallout 3 and realize "Oh shit, I'm just not having fun." Instead of going about and enjoying my time in New Vegas, I would have to make sure that I don't fuck up the main story because of all the intertwined side quests, it would just get tedious. On the other hand, I thought the parts in the main story before New Vegas were done incredibly well, Goodsprings really had a really nice old western theme going for it. But once you get to New Vegas it seems that the game forgets that its about the post-apocalypse, which some people may like, but I really liked how at the beginning of both Fallout's it was more of a survival game.

The Witcher 2.
Please develop your point, good sir?

On my list: every Call of Duty and its DLC after Modern Warfare. After that, they're all just horrible.

Alright, I'll put on the opinion hat and equip my troll shield.
Halo and Call of duty(any past 4) Have contributed so little to the medium and brought so many bad habits, it's just sickening.
I disagree with Halo. It showed how well a FPS on a console can do. Halo 2 showed what an online game can do. Halo 3 (my favorite) pretty much just polished the game and was the best of them all. ODST, was nothing more then a spin off though very well done. And Reach was amazing in generally though it didn't change much. The Halo games have always been perfectly balanced, and had co-op from the beginning. And the enemy A.I is some of the best. Sure team mate A.I its terrible, but enemy is great. Just my tale when ever someone says a bad thing about Halo.

OT: Damnation, I rarely pick on games. But that thing was just complete mess it wasn't even funny.
Games are for story in my eyes, and Halo was okay but just didn't do it, Halo 2 made the story more invigorating but eh... and 3... not too sure.

When combined with the books and other media it becomes a bit better though... a good Sci-Fi example of sorts, but I'm not touching on the horrors of their multiplayer scene.
Games are meant to be played, not read.

Wile narriative can be important for directing a game-playing a game simply for the story-especiially that of a shooter- is like going to live theature and basing your entire experience on the usage of special effects.

I disagree, as that is your opinion but it has not been the case in my life... and your analogy isn't all that good either, again my opinion.

I do not see a point in posting games that I don't like
Because there will always be a fan who will flame :p
But here goes
Any new game with Mario/Zelda (I AM SICK OF THEM!!)
Anything after Sonic 2 (Sorry but your games now disappoint me)
Fallout 3 (felt far too much like Oblivion with guns)
Any Sports games that make you pay full price for the same game every year (With a few tweaks that could be easily patched in)
Supreme Commander 2 (My god they ruined what made the original so great)(and i have played the original original TOTAL ANNIHILATION FTFW!!!<3)
errm lets see -runs to flame bunker-

I'm getting sick of saying E.T. and Superman 64 so I'm going with something new: Hotel Mario and Mario is missing. I hear they were both pretty god awful.

Also, Mass Effect 4, which actually ripped space-time and created a black hole that destroyed its own existence.Nothing else...
actually I'm gonna defend E.T. don't get me wrong it was a crap game, but without it games would not have evolved into what they are today. They would have just become another little toy for people to make for quick cash.

OT: Alan Wake, hated that game. It was not scary, the game play sucked, and the story was bland at best. It was just a Silent Hill(pre-Homecoming)knock-off

Fallout: New Vegas
replaced the at least creative green color scheme for a generic, brown one. was being a bit too forward with its humor, as if it was saying "see this? this is funny, now laugh" rather than "i'll just leave this here, I guess you can laugh if you like it"
there were too many weapons but not enough variety (which most games seem to be having trouble with)
I felt like i was playing a worse version of Fallout 3, not to mention the fact that it was almost twice as buggy...
But...

**NOTE** I do NOT want a flame war about this, it's m opinion, just leave it at that
Damnit... and here I was about to unleash a rant about your rant...

OT: Hmmm, games that shouldn't have existed... hm.. to be honest, I can't think of one right now... there are no games that I hate so strong, that I wished they never existed.. there might be a few ones that weren't necessary.. but hey, isn't the definition of luxury, having access to things that are unnecessary?

The hatred for CoD is, in part, justified, but I must say I'm a bit baffled at the "World at War" hate. It came at a time when WWII shooters were no longer 20-a-month, and was a good WWII game at that.

Eh, only games I wish never existed were The Last Remnant and Crackdown 2. One killed an entire genre for me, and the other was the single biggest letdown in gaming I've ever felt.

And people saying games that I like shouldn't exist (Fallout 3? Really?) makes me a very sad panda.

Oh look, one of these threads again. Can't we just accept that different people like different games and leave it at that? No? Fine, have fun being pretentious.

Duke Nukem Forever. God, every copy of that thing should die in a fire. The storyline was horrible, the graphics were painful... Them being able to release a game capable of filling in the hellish wait would be like trying to obliterate a skyscraper with a toothbrush.

Yea, I just don't want to fill this thread with nothing but a rather lengthy argument between two fans whose Ideas will never change.
I'm just going to leave it at that

Masters of Orion 3... (MOO3)

I still play MOO2 every so often if i'm feeling hungry for galactic conquest. I miss those kinds of games. MOO3 should have been a return to that and totally killed the series. Maybe someone can reboot it again some day, but replacements have come out but I just haven't wanted to take the risk in blowing money on another 4x game that can't deliver. Of course that may have been the issue with MOO3, it was supposed to be a 5x game (can't remember the 5th X) but it just didn't work.

Oblivion, that unimmersive, bland, bug ridden piece of... well, waste of money that is.
Only way to make it even remotely enjoyable is by heavy modding.
Of all the games to choose... that's easily my favorite game of all time. And won Game of the Year. And is considered by many as, along side Mass Effect, the best RPG in the last decade.

I'd say, every Fable after Fable: Lost Chapters, Crysis 2, the single player sides of Bad Company 1 and 2, and Every COD after 4.
Yeah what is that guy talking about? Oblivion!? Seriously! Oblivion rocks! He probably just sucks at it...

Command & Conquer 4, the game that singlehandedly killed one of my most beloved gameseries. "Let's improve the gameplay by getting out all the fun parts like basebuilding and gathering resources and limit the amount of units you can have in a mission!" Yeah that worked like a charm... NOT!
And lets not forget the whole respawning deal. Its a fucking RTS game not a mindless shooter!

All the Madden games. I hate football to begin with, and degrading the gaming medium by adding a scam series of football video games that are essentially just the same crappy game over and over again with just a few new players and and some insignificant changes in the game mechanics is the epitome of bad game design. Boring, bland, uninspired, pointless, etc., etc. Screw you John Madden.

Crackdown 2

It is just a completely lazy copy of the first game. Sure, there is four player co op but that is no where near enough to sell a game on its own.

They could've added in something interesting like, oh, what's that big meaty chunk in a game...oh yeah, a story; all you get are a few short and poorly constructed cutscenes that barely tie it all together. What's sad is that if they weren't there in the first place, the player would still be in the same state of confussion.

Even the co op element of it wasn't executed brilliantly. If anything, it made the game short because everyone came in and did everything for you (in my experience anyway) or they were just total nobs that would hunt you down until the end of time.

I agree.
Besides this has turned into 'Post Games You Didin't Like So You Wasted Your Money Opinions' thread.
There are only a few games that truly hurted the industry but most of them just let it evolve (not so much Triple A games but i'm trying to make a point).
