No game should EVER become a movie. Turning a game into a movie removes what makes it good. When you take something complex and simplify it, it is never the same.

Games are getting to the point where the ones with good enough stories to be made into movies are cinematic enough to pass as playable movies anyway.
And it should NEVER be done until someone can do it right. And no one ever will. Redundant? Well.. yeah.

Oh and also.. Movies really need to stop having games based after them.

Too true. And most people don't wanna see a movie about a video game anyway so, if we hate it, and everyone else hates it...who is watching this movie? Since most if not all video game movies do poorly to abysmally at the box office, apparently no one. I also think that the active role in the story that gaming makes us take, instead of passively like reading or watching really changes the experience and games aren't just movies that you play and control the pacing of. There's a part of me the that thinks one of the things that make games great and shitty movies is the sense of accomplishment. And an admission price so to speak; that you don't get to have the experience or the same experience for free you have to earn it.

This thread has doomed us all, its likely that employees from every movie company are watching what we post for good ideas.
