I am gonna go with Pinball here... since most games are generally shit and should not even have the grace of a release date :/
I think you're in the wrong forum, we like games here :p

Uh I'd have to say FEAR. Pvp seperate from the main story yes but don't bring co-op into the main plot.

I'm not sure. I'll just say artsy games, because it would just be looking around an awesome world... with one other person.

BioShock, I mean it would just ruin the atmosph- Oops, too late.

There are probably other examples, but any game that plays heavily upon auto aim, like Wet.
I don't mind the little snap to thing that Call of Duty has, but a system that you could lock onto someone anywhere in the room no matter where your looking would just be silly.
Co-op might work, but definitely not competitively.

Cant recall when I viewed FF as a game :/
I wont deny I played ME1 & 2 since i love collecting saved games... same goes for Dragon Age... but it felt more like work than gaming ...

And fear was not the best for multiplayer... not such as the ranks of COD or even CS...

I would say MW2, I liked the single player but the multiplayer became plague to the internet like accounts filled with MW2 crap (Not really on this website but on other communities) Like garrysmod.org or steam.

Bioshock 2, I guess they realised that they weren't going to make the second as good as the first, so they just slapped on multiplayer and released it. Which is why I didn't get it :D

Just like I won't be getting AC: Brotherhood.
100% on the money. BS2 felt like a play for money rather than a lovingly crafted sequel. What a shame, since the first was a masterpiece.

Fallout 3 definately. And I mean Competetive stuff, the usaul, you know Deathmatch, CTF and all that. Co-op should be in though, Fable 2 style. You can visit friends'/friends can visit your world though, and help do shit. Be great to RP as a Merc duo...

BioShock 2 should've never had the multiplayer. It was tacked on, and because of it the campaign was shorter and not nearly as good as the originals.

Anything turn based. Just wouldn't make sense.
you my friend, have not been introduced to Final Fantasy Tactics. Don't ask me how, just know that it works, in a way only FF(well, the older ones anyway) could do.

OT: I would say dating sims. How would that work? Double dates? WTF?

It was developed by another division of 2k but your right, it could of been money spent towards the campaign and hiring better writers.

Except for Worms.

I'd have to agree that AC: Brotherhood seemed wierd. You typically do stealthy stuff games on your own. Now you have to do it with other people stabbing targets right next to you.

I am going to start with Assassin's Creed. Although everything I have seen from Brotherhood looks good and might be fun, I just don't feel like the gameplay or concept really lends itself to being multiplayer. I am still going to pick it up but I hope they don't include multiplayer in AC3.
The multiplayer is being made by a different team; just don't play it.

OT: I can't see them ever putting multiplayer on, say, Mafia 3 should it come to be.

This. BioShock had absolutely no reason to include multiplayer. Or to make a sequel at all for that matter, but that's a different issue.

Seriously, sometimes it seems developers just throw multiplayer in to appease the people who want it.

I think Mass Effect could certainly deal with multiplayer, though it would literally just be letting a buddy take control of one of the AI partners. Resident Evil, for me, is the series that should never have had multiplayer introduced. Dead Space as well.

I dissagree. I thought that the multiplayer was good on its own but then i finished it and
Jacks plane crashes outside your apartment and Andrew Ryan tells you to hunt down the 'parasite for the good of Rapture'. When i realised that i was a spilcer in the 1st game it really blindsided me and game a nice conclusion to the multiplayer characters story
it had an actual story that really entralled me.

OT: Horror games as has been previously mentioned. Brutal legend really didnt need a multiplayer but it didnt really hurt.
