Splinter Cell Conviction and Alpha Protocol.
Conviction I hated (with a passion) since the first day it was confirmed to be in the makes. When the demo hit I even threw a little fit and vowed to never touch it. Then it was released, and of course I bought it, it's not like I've been called an incurable fangirl for nothing. And now... now my enthusiasm has been lit something fierce, and while I still don't like the story and some characterization decisions, I very much appreciate the packaging around it.
Alpha Protocol because... because... because I knew it was going to be mediocre. Yet it was better than that, even through all the game play flaws. The VO was almost decent, the dialogue fairly well written, and sneaking about enough fun to keep me pushing forward through the story. Never-you-mind the eventual HIPS button and the generally boring gameplay... I still had fun.
