Games that truly frightened you.

I scare easily, so I only play Killing Floor during the daytime. And for a while I was stuck in Ravenholm because it scared the shit out of me to suddenly get jumped by a madly screeching headcrab zombie - or a poison headcrab. Oh god the poison headcrabs. Can't you hear them, skittering, skittering, screeching in the night, oh they're coming for me they're coming for me.....

Eteranl Darkness (had a couple of creepy moments)

A lot of people say that this game isn't scary, but the only game I found really scary was Dead Space. It nailed the "Oh, I'm sooooooo FUCKED" atmosphere right on the head. You never knew when the next necro is going to jump at you (the first playthrough, that is, second one was less intence), and you never knew whether you're gonna come out alive from the next battle. Awesome.
Also, Condemned had it's moments, I really wish they'd release Condemned 2 on PC...

STALKER, seriously, its the atmosphere of the place, the fact that everything around you is desolate, quite, abbandonded, the only other people are generally not that nice, only being friendly because of mutual gain. And the monster, oh the monster are some of the scariest, I still remeber the first Bloodsucker encounter and then after that, the bloody Controller, which scared thecrap outa me and finally, the Snork, they are terrifying, maybe because they still look kinda human, I dunno, they are just completely terrifying.
