Gears of War 2.

Because Epic have become so poor at developing games any more, they actually managed to ruin everything good about the first game (besides the campaign, which was improved). They also did the same to Unreal III.

I hope whoever developed Shadow Complex jumps ship.

Games that have been ruined via means other than developer fuckups....Hmmm. Probably Bioshock. I loved the game, was one level away from the end, and bam - HDD dies, takes all my saves with it. Games like Bioshock aren't that fun to play through again once you know everything that will happen. Still a brilliant game though.

Call of Duty 4. The section where you run away from the nuclear blast was ruined for me, because I knew beforehand that you can't get away from it. The point of the scene is to give you the illusion that you can get away so you actually feel the tension and the urgency that the character must be feeling, only to die slowly and horribly from the radiation. I didn't have that, so the scene didn't have the same impact on me.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
in quake 4 when
you get turned into a strogg, the damn devs blabbed about that before the game came out and it would have been a pretty cool twist

The Call of Duty series. 1 and 2 were really quite fun, but after that they started going way downhill. Call of Duty 4 is ruined for me because nobody else wants to play anything else.

I can't stand the series, soon enough every single game will be exactly the same as Call of Duty because they sell ridiculously well.

Counter-Strike, but I should have expected that. Way too many people are way too good and way too 12-year-old sounding.

The storyline of Tales of Symphonia was ruined for me, so now I'm very careful about spoilers in virtually anything.

Before the PC version of GTA IV came out, I knew every single death of a person. Also I knew both endings.
Mostly it was my fault.

CoD 4 (and ever CoD after), ruined by becoming main stream, and attracted the horde of internet scum, such as rage quitters, t-baggers, 12 years olds etc. etc. You all know what I mean, CoD 2 was easily the best, simply because it had balance and a good player base.

Note: Before anyone asks, "Why forget CoD3?" nobody liked it and wasn't the cause of the series being ruined. :)

Ninja Gaiden 2. That stupid last boss made me hate all the time I put into it. I suck.
If you mean the 360 one. It wasn't even the final boss for me.. It was that damn Dagra Dai.

He floats, every one of his attacks is a "fuck you" attack and the whole fight is luck based because it depends on his attacks and the 2(3?) respawning dragon-like bastards in the tiny arena.

Fallout 3.

It was good, but my game saves got fucked up, and I lost 80+ hours of gameplay.
Dude... I'm sorry. I would probably actually cry if that happened to my Fallout 3 files.

Starcraft.

I was getting really good and then I learned the cheats. Every time I encountered a challenge, instead of accepting loss I cheated, and started to suck. It's like some drug. Kids, cheats are addicting, they are not glamorous, and they are not cool. Once you start, you can'-POWER OVERWHELMING!!!!

God damn it, whyyyyyyy...

The Legend of Spyro series. I havn't played it, and its possible that its a good game. Unfortunately I can't stand the fact that its existence relies on the complete absence and removal of everything that made the originals fun and... well original.

Normally when someone complains about not liking a game I say live and let live. In this case however it actually does have an effect on games I like. As long as they make Spyro games like that, nobody is able to try and restore them to their old glory.
