I know I might be one of the few people to say this, but I felt that ubisoft made a bad move returning to the Sands of Time universe instead of making a proper sequel to the 2008 PoP reboot. Most people will say that they hated the new dudebro prince, or the simplified combat. Honestly, I loved the game. I found the new main character endearing, even if it was only because he would be the kind of person I would hang out with in real life, the scenery was awe inspiring, and after I learned to treat the combat more like a rhythm game I found it satisfying.
This. So much this. Supposedly the DS game was the actual follow up to the 2008 PoP story, but I want a proper conclusion in the same format as the previous game. I hate when a sequel shows up on a different platform, unless it is the natural progression of consoles (PS2 to PS3, for example).

As far as recent games go (and I'm willing to bet we will get one) a sequel to Dishonored would be great. Prefer not to play as Corvo again though as I feel the game wrapped up his story effectively. Maybe progress through a generation or two and then have a new protagonist.

And looking back in the vaults of my games, I would like a sequel to Oni (PS2). Sure, it was a little clunky, but for it's time I think it did a good job of mixing melee combat and gunplay in a world that felt very Ghost in the Shell. Also a proper sequel to Bushido Blade (PS1). BB2 was okay, but somehow not nearly as fun as the original.

We get enough sequels already. Let the games you enjoyed in the past lie in rest, instead of constantly digging them and sewing modern game mechanics/sensibilities onto them. Please let's stop producing misshapen monstrosities in an attempt to resurrect games of the past.

System Shock 2 anyone? No one? How about Age of Mythology? Alright at least a sequel to the Mark of the Ninja with the same protagonist and more levels and abilities.

As obscure as it is, I think Half Life 2 deserves some attention too. Maybe kick start it, I dunno.

Edit: Screw the rest. World needs a sequal to Warcraft 3 with next gen visuals.

Chrono Trigger/Cross

Those games were my favorite growing up. I would love to see them revisited!
This.

Instead of pumping out Final Fantasy spin-off after Final Fantasy spin-off, why not create a new installment in the Chrono franchise? I mean, it consists out of two critically acclaimed games (not counting Radical Dreamers), why would you not want to expand this series? Hell, even Parasite Eve got the The 3rd Birthday - and even though Kingdom Hearts has been giving the Valve "I can't count to three"-treatment, at least there's a ton of spin-offs. And while Vagrant Story never got a sequel, the world of Ivalice lived on in FF Tactics and FF XII.

Man, the Chrono series really did get the shaft, didn't it?

That said, I wouldn't mind if they made a second Okami or a third Shadow Hearts game.
(And to everyone who claims those already exist: you're wrong. Dead wrong.)

The usuals: Knights of the Old Republic, Vampire Bloodlines..

Honestly, I'd like to see a sequel or something similar to Alpha Protocol.

Jade Empire, but somewhat of a more direct sequel, seeing as the Spirit Monks are still very much dead and I'd like to fix that...but considering Bio's track record lately, maybe Obsidian should get that.

Its managed to get this far without anyone mentioning Psychonauts? This shall not stand!

Seriously though, a clever well written game with a sequel hook that just begs for a sequel.

I would love a sequel to The Last Remnant. It's one of my favorite RPGs, has a unique battle system, and the ending sure leaves the possibility open.

Alan Wake (no, that lackluster XBLA game does not count as a proper sequel!) The game had its flaws, sure, but I won't pretend I didn't enjoy playing it. I see a lot of potential for the IP. Good news is there's a strong likelihood AW2 will be announced in the near future seeing as the first game was pretty successful.

While not quite 'most deserving of a sequel', I'm hoping the Darksiders franchise didn't crash and burn along with THQ. Vigil no longer exists and I don't know what happened to the rights of the series, but I'd love to see a Darksiders 3.
I only mention it because I don't know how much of a reality that is anymore.

I'd love to see a sequel to BLACK. Maybe not the best story or game, but the mechanics in it were excellent. Nearly everything was destructible and all guns had impact that you could almost feel as you fired them. Except the enemies in it seemed to eat bullets for breakfast...
I'd love to see a remake of BLACK that actually delivered on what the developers promised us. I've never been more disappointed by a game after spending months reading about how it was going to re-define console shooters and instead we got eight missions running about The Land of the Exploding Barrel.

OT: Gitaroo Man, though it will most likely never happen given how poorly the original did and how the rhythm market has since been completely changed by Guitar Hero and it's ilk.

Still though, I'll never forget that Summer spent trying to beat the San Bone Trio on Master's Play.

Advent Rising- the gameplay may have been unpolished, but the story was incredible and clearly needed a sequel. To me it was the better Halo :)

Alpha Protocol. That was a really good game that deserves a sequel. I really don't see why everyone was bitching about it.

A couple of people have mentioned the obvious ones like Knights of the Old Republic and Psychonauts and I would love sequels of them. However, my number 1 game that I want a sequel for is Conker's Bad Fur Day. It was so good to read about the possibility of a sequel not long after the first one came out but then nothing happened :/

FLUPIN' Kingdom hearts III

I NEEEEEEEED IT

Also, I feel another Deux ex game wouldn't be a miss. It feels like Human Revolution was close but there a few mistakes that could be rectified in another one.

Stubbs the zombie.

Probably the funniest and most entertaining game on the original xbox.
I bought it a couple of months ago on pc and its still brilliant, all it needs now is a HD re-release.

Rise Of Nations: it was a great mix between civ and aoe and was quite unique in the RTS world. Not really sure why they gave up on that franchise.
Empires Dawn Of The Modern World: What Empire Earth should have been (and not coincidentally made by the devs of EE1) but unfortunately the sales flopped. Man i had quite a blast playing that game, no RTS has yet to provide me with the same fun as EDOTMW.

Skullgirls needs a sequel so it can add more characters that really held the game back imo especially as you could have 3 characters on a team still at least we get squiggly. I would also like to see how the story pans out as its better than most fighting games in this department but thats a rather backhanded compliment.

Soul Calibur 6 or Soul Blade/Edge 2 needs to happen mechanically I though 5 was the best since SC1 and the online and character creation were also decent but everything else was rushed and a mess with little single player content and some bizzare character choices like ripping out some iconic characters to replace them with unlikeable replicas with the same basic movesets and then there was the 3 almost identical random fighting style characters inc kilik weirdly. Anyway SC is still my favourite fighting game series so if we had a game with 4s character selection 2 and 3s single player content 1s fighting engine and 5s online and character creation (just improved even more) and Soul Blades thematics it would be amazing.

Age of Mythology just like that guy above.

I don't get why it hasn't gotten an HD remake yet. Hell, the AoE games always sold well, why don't they just reassemble ensemble and just make AoE4 or AoM2

This is exactly what my comment was going to be (give or take a Psychonauts, which I've never played).

I hate you.

D'awwwwe, I can't stay mad.

Considering RARE's condition, we might sadly never get a new Conker. On the other hand, it looks like a KOTOR sequel is unanimously desired and easily within a developer's priority (or should be)... so why aren't they doing that? What drugs are they taking? What dimension are they hiding out in? Who are they?

Metal Arm: Glitch in the system come to my mind. It was a solid game (challanging but fun) and the ending did leave room for a sequel (the scientist got away) despite how it was a happy ending.

For me it's definitely also a true KOTOR III or Psychonauts 2.

Well, technicaly BioWare's SWTOR is supposed to be KOTOR III (which it does suprisingly well, it's just the business model and endgame that ruined SWTOR), and Obsidian plans to pitch a new non-KOTOR Star Wars game to LucasArts (except they're waiting for Disney to get settled first :/) ... It's all kinda messy in that regard.
