Persona series, Shadow of the Collosus, ICO, Kingdom Hearts series, Sly Cooper series, God of War 1 & 2... basically most of the great playstation 2 exclusives, I got an xbox around that time, I had a lot of fun with Halo but... I mean just look at what I missed! I guess the silver lining is that I probably wouldn't have appreciated those games as much as I do now, I was pretty much a typical xbox live doucher type of gamer at the time anyways

God, what was Insomniac thinking . . .
They were probably thinking that giant alien monsters and robots were more important than good level design and combat mechanics. [small]I've never played a PlayStation exclusive.[/small]

Anyway, I get into games way after everyone else quite often. For example I just recently bought Final Fantasy XIII and Red Dead Redemption and I will not be getting Skyrim until they release the inevitable Game of the Year edition with all the DLC. That's not to say I never buy games right away, it's just that if I don't think "OMG must have day 1!!!!11" I prefer to wait for a price drop or DLC bundle.

off the top of my head, id say persona 4 and even thoe i havent beaten it yet i gotta say its an awesome game!
Oh boy, you're in for a treat. When you find out who the murderer is... oh, I'm excited for you.

OT: This happens to me pretty often, unless I'm pretty hyped for a game before it comes out. Latest example I can think of is Sonic Generations, which I just beat a few weeks ago.

Well... that's not entirely accurate. Right now, I'm playing Final Fantasy VII on my PSP. I've TRIED to play it in the past, but I could never get into it. Making it portable has actually made it MUCH easier for me to play it. Mostly because: A. The graphics don't look so bad on such a tiny screen B. The lack of voice acting doesn't bother me as much on a handheld C. Since I can just turn off the PSP whenever I want to stop playing, and start whenever I want, I'm no longer at the mercy of the game's save system.

i have my suspicion about who it is :), but yeah its a great game one of the best(if not the best JRPG that i have ever played)what got me curious about it was when i heard about kanji and by extension the game via the extra credits episode(i went and bought the PS2 just for this game lol), and i have to say i love the symbolism, psychology and philosophy in the game.

New Vegas. I just picked it up a few weeks ago. The intro was kinda slow but after Primm it was suddenly a week later and I was 60 hours in and nearing the endgame. I missed plenty of stuff too and cocked up a lot so it warrants another playthrough at some point.

Well op, I'm in fact a millionare... but that's only because inflation is so silly here that 107 dollars, makes a little more than 1.000.000 bolivares (which is our currency).

On topic, I picked up Metal Gear Solid just a few months after Sons of Liberty was released, same deal with Soul Reaver, Silent Hill, Hitman, and Tenchu: Stealth Assassin's.
It's like I always wait for a second game to come out before I try playing the first one.

And the exact opposite happened to me like 8 years ago. I was like crazy looking for "Game of Thrones" on every bookshop but I always got the same answer from the cashier "Game of what? look if you're interested in fantasy we're having a 30% discount on Harry Potter books". Now I find it everywhere I go to, but I already lost interest in the damn series after years of frustration of not finding any of the books.

Morrowind. I tried getting into it a few year back after I played oblivion but I couldn't due to how bad it looked compared to then and I felt really slow. I got it recently and add the overhaul mod and made such a big difference to me.

I now love it and think it's amazing and can't believe I almost missed such a great game.

XCOM and Fallout 1/2.
XCOM was released before I was born, and I started playing that when I got a steam account. Fallout 1/2 I started playing when Fallout 3 was announced.

Arkham Asylum. I thought I'd see what the big deal was with the game and wanted a decent Batman game after watching some of the films. I was hooked, and with Arkham City 3 or so months away when I finished I pre-ordered it.

Well I recently played through Batman Arkham City GOTY edition. The original version is about 7 months old, so any discussion for the game has long passed.

Also I played a bunch of Final Fantasy games over the past 2 years. They include (in order I played them)

VII
IX
X
IV DS
XIII

Bioshock. I already knew the twist thanks to my friend, but man that game was worth it anyway. Awesome game.

Well, I got into Batman Arkham Asylum around the time that Batman Arkham City launched on consoles. However the reason for this is that my PC wasn't good enough to play it properly.

I just recently got into Assassin's Creed. I plan to finish the first game over the summer.

Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube. I bought it in 2010 after having quickly learned that the Wii does not hold a plethora of titles that are terribly engaging to me, so I started working through a backlog of GC games in the hopes of finding something that I clicked with. Lo and behold, RE4, which I have easily replayed more than any other game I own.

I've actually just recently been dying to get my hands on Shadow of the Colossus. I've wanted to play that game since it came out in 2005, but either i didn't have the money or, more recently, my PS2 had been broken. Just recently got around to fixing the thing, and now all i need is an HDMI cable for my PS2 and the actual game.

The only game I really only started playing well after it passed its "BEST GAME EVAR" time frame was Red Dead Redemption. When I first look at it, I wasn't really all that interested in the western style theme of the game. Then I saw Unskippable's video on the opening and I'm like I don't know why, but I'll get it; and I'm still kicking myself in the ass that I didn't get it sooner. John Marston has to be on like my top 5 all-time best game charaters ever done.
