I gotta say that I didn't enjoy Infinite as much as its predecessors. In Rapture, you were engulfed by a city where something went horribly wrong. It was just plain fun to learn how the city became the way it was. In Columbia, you're basically a tourist in a place that decided to secede from the states. It wasn't as gripping, though it had its own charm. The basic pistol lacked the punch the revolver had, as did the shotgun and the machine gun. They and the plasmid-substitutes felt watered-down, less satisfying. That said, I adored the upgrade in mechanics Bioshock 2 featured and it will always be my guilty pleasure. I think even the drill bash was a prototype for the ram vigor that popped up in the third game.smouchus22 said:Time to be really unpopular - I have been unable to get into Bioshock Infinite. I have tried twice, with both attempts ending the same way.
I have no doubt the story is excellent, however the gameplay........oh the gameplay.
The shooting (to me) feels generic. There is no enjoyment with how the weapons look and sound. I can't get past that. Plus I also feel the game is too slow (yes I know all Bioshocks are that way).
There is something about it that doesn't feel like Bioshock - I enjoyed the first one but didn't play the second (all the rage turned me off it). I just can't put my finger on it.
As Jim Sterling would say: I am jealous if you enjoy it. There is just something about it that I don't like.
OT: Personas 3 and 4 . I love the settings, the characters, the story, the fighting with stands. It's all really gripping. But then a hamaon knocks on my door and tells the main character he forgot to pay rent, and a half hour of progress swirls down the drain. I play it again - but usually after a break - and it's been quite a trek now. I haven't actually finished either game.
