Time to be really unpopular - I have been unable to get into Bioshock Infinite. I have tried twice, with both attempts ending the same way.

I have no doubt the story is excellent, however the gameplay........oh the gameplay.

The shooting (to me) feels generic. There is no enjoyment with how the weapons look and sound. I can't get past that. Plus I also feel the game is too slow (yes I know all Bioshocks are that way).

There is something about it that doesn't feel like Bioshock - I enjoyed the first one but didn't play the second (all the rage turned me off it). I just can't put my finger on it.

As Jim Sterling would say: I am jealous if you enjoy it. There is just something about it that I don't like.
I gotta say that I didn't enjoy Infinite as much as its predecessors. In Rapture, you were engulfed by a city where something went horribly wrong. It was just plain fun to learn how the city became the way it was. In Columbia, you're basically a tourist in a place that decided to secede from the states. It wasn't as gripping, though it had its own charm. The basic pistol lacked the punch the revolver had, as did the shotgun and the machine gun. They and the plasmid-substitutes felt watered-down, less satisfying. That said, I adored the upgrade in mechanics Bioshock 2 featured and it will always be my guilty pleasure. I think even the drill bash was a prototype for the ram vigor that popped up in the third game.

OT: Personas 3 and 4 . I love the settings, the characters, the story, the fighting with stands. It's all really gripping. But then a hamaon knocks on my door and tells the main character he forgot to pay rent, and a half hour of progress swirls down the drain. I play it again - but usually after a break - and it's been quite a trek now. I haven't actually finished either game.

Skyrim,Divinity 2:Dragon Knight Saga,Dragon's Dogma and The Witcher 2.I just don't really have the time or desire to sink 50+ hours into an RPG right now

Alpha Protocol. I've started playing it several times, hear it gets really good and for some reason haven't made it through the first real mission. It doesn't help that RPG's always take a long time to play.
To be fair as RPGs go Alpha Protocol is on the shorter side. You're probably looking at about 15-20 hours to beat the entire game.Highly recommend it though. One of my favourite games from the last gen

I have to take Skyrim aswell. It might be because of playing it on console, or that i'm not a big rpg player, maybe i missed narrative to much. Maybe it was the fun combat of Dragons Dogma, i don't know, i was bored. I had some fun with the character creator and wandered of with my orc barbarian and after some hours i turned of the console. I really wanted to like the game.

Ones that I can't just get around to playing are Skyrim and Dark Souls. I got halfway through Demon's Souls and was really enjoying it, but having a newborn and lacking the ability to pause the game just did not go hand in hand, so I abandoned it to play other games. Dark Souls I figure will have the same problem. Skyrim I feel will just be too much of a time investment for me to enjoy when I only get a couple of hours a week, at best, for gaming.

As for a game I'd like to play but just cannot get into, that would be Bioshock. I've tried twice now, both times before parenthood when I had more time for gaming, but I usually only get around the first boss (mad doctor, I think) before just feeling bored with the game. For some reason it's just not drawing me in. The game has a great atmosphere and theme, but it's just not working for me.

Anything with a big number on the end. I'd like to play The Witcher 2, or Half-life 2, both games that I own.

But I'd need to play the first ones first because of my OCD.
I could force myself to play them, of course, but I need to do that kind of stuff at school and work anyway to get around my issues, and it's mentally exhausting, so when I play games I like to relax.

I also haven't played Assasin's creed series.

Also Persona 3 and 4.

Many of the old school rpgs. It's not (always) the stories, it's the interface. I LOATHE Icewind Dale/Baulders Gate/etc. style controls. I try my hardest to stop thinking about the terrible graphics, but the mechanisms through which the game is played just sorta piss me off. The only one I was able to get around to properly playing was Planescape: Torment (so glad I did), and it helped that that one was far more focused on good storytelling and a truly fascinating, weird world(s) than mindless combat (and even that was held back a bit by my dislike of 2nd Edition DnD).

The early metal gear games too. I sorta want to play the later ones, but I hate skipping the early ones (which I would not enjoy playing, from the look of them).

Oh, and the Witcher. The interface isn't a problem here, but the first game feels...stilted in a way. Like every character is just sorta stuck with a foot in the uncanny valley, but not quite enough to totally throw me off? The second and third game look interesting, but it's hard to press through the first before touching the latter ones.

The Witcher 2 I reached the point where had to chose between a guy and another guy. I have been told that this is a big decision that severely influences the rest of the game but I didn't care anymore.

Also Assasin's Creed III. Not realy because I wanted to but I payed 30 euros so I at least wanted to see if I could get some entertainment out of it. After 3 hours I realized that such a thing would be like trying to wring blood out of a stone.

Dead Space 1, 2 and 3. I've played parts of Dead Space 1 on the PC but the controls were so annoying I couldn't finish without wanting to throw the keyboard through a wall.

I grabbed Splinter Cell Blacklist for about the price of a Pizza some time ago but I was really put off by the forced action sequences. I was hoping for something along the lines of an Arkham game only with potential gun-play. When I have the option to get through an area stealthily and, get through unnoticed, it's really satisfying and I feel awesome. Then there are the action sequences which just seem forced...I would have thought they would be fine since there are action games with horrible, forced stealth sequences but if anything I'm more put off by the forced action in SC:B than I was by the forced stealth in say, Ocarina of Time.

I also got Assassin's Creed 3 for about the prize of a really good stromboli but I still haven't made it far enough to start playing as Connor. Something about the controls just doesn't feel right to me. It could be that I haven't played another Assassin's Creed in such a long time but I remember having virtually no problem with AC and AC2. Maybe it just wasn't optimized for the Wii U which is a possibility. I just couldn't get into AC3...I think I'm just done with the series.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
The start of the game is so unbelievably dull and tedious that all my attempts to get into it have failed. However, I have recently heard that Morrowind only gets good much after that fact, and that your character gets good enough at fighting to not run out of magicka after only taking a single enemy's health bar down half-way, or is able to swing their weapon and not miss a perfectly still target 9 out of 10 times, so I might try and force myself to power through it and try again. Either that or I'll just wait for Skywind to get done.
If you really want to 'quick start' Morrowind there is a character in Fort Moonmoth outside of Balmora that will sell you a Drain *skill* spell that can be modified at the Mages Guild so that you can cast it on yourself before engaging in training to reduce trainer costs and thus level quickly, but I really must advise you to only use this as an absolute last resort - Morrowind is a great RPG in part due to your character's journey from 'zero to hero' and fast-tracking through that process will rob the game of much of it's appeal and sense of reward, in much the same way as applying IDDQD robs Doom of any challenge. Still, Morrowind is an incredibly rich RPG and if you feel the pacing needs a little jumpstart to get you past the early learning curve that should help.

I love Star Wars and Mass Effect, so I've been trying to play the KOTOR games, but I dislike the combat like crazy.
Then there's Dark Souls 1 and 2, both of which have awesome worlds and interesting creatures and such, but I can't actually get through the games because of the difficulty. I wish there were some kind of God Mode mod or something so I could just wander at my leisure.

Refresh my memory. What were these forced action sequences again?I mean I did a no kill ghost playthrough and I'm struggling to remember any forced action bits

Nah nothing to do with the Wii U.AC3 is just a bad game.I pretty much had to force myself to finish it

I recall a mission where you have to rescue a guy being tortured but before you can leave the fortified, terrorist hideout place the room where hostage-man is being held gets stormed by a dozen or so armed guards. There are a couple of other sections where guards congest the area to such a point that, while it isn't impossible to go through unnoticed, it's extremely difficult to do so without a lot of save-scumming and reloading. For me anyway...I remember having a lot of trouble with stealth in the Hitman games too...

Deus Ex 1 and System Shock 2.

I've been working my way through gaming classics and I feel like these two should be my favorite things ever, but I just can't find any drive to play them.

I played about 2 hours of DE and enjoyed it a fair bit. System Shock fared worse as I only got about 10 minutes past the tutorials. Still, I loved the ideas of the character creation and I feel like I should have enjoyed myself than I did. After all, I have no problem with older games considering Fallout 1 is something I only just tried recently and it instantly became one of my favorite games.

Then new things come out. First I got into the Total War series and spent approximately 3 bajillion hours on that, then the Destiny Beta came out, then it will be something else. Maybe someday their will be a long enough dry spot for me to return.

for me it's any WRPG and any RPG with a Silent Protagonist, be it Western or Japanese, for some reason I can't get in the mood to play or enjoy them as much as I want to.

Not ringing any bells tbh.The only bits I can recall that could be considered action were controlling the drone and escaping the airstrike and those were pretty easy. The funny thing is I'm usually not great at stealth but I had no problems with Blacklist.Did a no kill ghost playthrough on realistic difficulty and never really struggled with it
