Metal Gear Rising is one of my recent ones, the game is short but there's no variety. Mash sword, parry red flashes dodge orange flashes. The parry system made the difficulty a joke to me. It takes three seconds to master, and once you do a red attack can never hit you unless you put the controller down.

I am usually pretty adamant about finishing games that I enjoy, but even so there are still a few I have put down and need to get back to. Alan Wake, ninja gaiden 3, Gran Turismo 5, couple RPGs (Risen, Amalur). Also Dead Island. I'm sure I'll get back to them though. ONE DAY.

LA Noire
Arx Fatalis
Dishonored for a while, eventually went back and finished it
Risen, eventually went back and finished
From Dust
Amnesia (too fucking scary!)

Lots more... I have a bad habit of being an obsessive gamer and focusing heavily on one game until I beat it. Sometimes while I'm playing one game I find another game that captures my interest, and become obsessed in it instead and the other game falls by the wayside.

One big one for me would be Amnesia, and I know why, but it really wasn't a good reason to stop playing it. Whenever I play games like that, I need to be in the right setting to get super sucked into the atmosphere... which for that game would be around midnight. Problem you don't have that many opportunities to play at midnight with ample time to get a chunk out of the game. (How long is it by the way?)

Ooooooh... the fade... I love DA:O but no one on the face of this Earth could stand to say "Oh I like that part."
And if you think that is bad wait till you get to Orzimmar!
But if you made it that far you might as well finish it. It is a pretty good game if you give it patience.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

It's a good game, and the story wasn't that bad for a new IP. I just beat all of the DLC and then...collected dust ever since.

Demon Souls, I liked it, but I couldn't be asked to fight a few of the bosses I couldn't beat at one point in the game. I was actually coasting through the game at one point, not dying for a while, clearing a few areas with ease. Then the double gargoyle boss and fire beast boss thing made me rage quit. I was really enjoying myself too, but I have no interest in continuing the game.

That applies to most of my games, actually. There's a certain point where I almost always realize I'm doing the same five or six things over and over, albeit in slightly different settings each time. When that particular realization sinks in, I usually skip to another title.

The only recent game that managed to combine a tedious routine and an even stronger appeal and desire to finish was Saints Row IV. I blew through the entire thing, side-quests and all, in a weekend.

As for the Data Clusters - that I pretty much gave up on. As soon as it became clear I'd done pretty much everything, out came the ol' trainer and the quick faffing about with an overpowered and fully levelled President of the United States.

I might try and complete a few extra challenges, seeing as I'm only missing the ability to run on water.

Honestly, I can't imagine ever finding enough fucks to give to go back. At this point, I barely remember the plot due to the series momentum issue.

I'm just put down my 'this year' games.

Valkyrie chronicles 2 (psp)- played it for a few days, then I moved not something else and not touched it for ages, recently started a New game to relearn it. Not gone back to it.
Dragon age 2 (360 - arghhhhhhhhh decided to play kingdom of A
Kingdom of Amular (360) - over 20 to 30 hours done, so many quests that I just dont care about. But it's a nice game to look at an hat combat.
Amnesia - PC in lounge room so I did not get many opportunities to play it and now the PC is dead, easier if it is just ported to 360 or ps3.
Infamous 2 (ps3) - part of a 2 for 20 deal, mainly wanted heavy rain. Ill get back to it eventually

Then there the super Xbox sales games
Dungeon siege 3 - playin coop, been put on hiatus
d&d - not really part of the sales but same as above
Dark messiah- done the tutorial

Final Fantasy VI. Just did not click with me. Got around halfway through and stopped. I think people give it far too much credit, like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VII. Yeah, I'm sure it's an ok game and even better for it's time. But now? It's average at best.

Too many to count. Saints row 4 might find its way into that pile soon - I finished the story and I'm just rounding up achievements and collectables now.

Oh, this has happened to me so many times.

Persona 3 FES: I mostly blame my perfectionism, trying to get maxed social links on my first run. The instant I fucked up, though, I just sort of stopped. I told myself "well, I don't NEED max social links, I can just enjoy the story", but my nagging completionist brain wouldn't let me. Probably will gear up for another go at some point, provided I have a Max Social Link guide that doesn't contradict itself and is way easier to follow than the one I found on GameFAQs.

Devil May Cry: I was getting a little bored of all the same-y castle environments, I guess. Graphics and gameplay haven't aged too well, either.

Tales of Graces f: I found the battle system frustrating as hell, and why everyone praises it as the best in the series, I'll never know. That, and while I know the point of it was to be as cliche as hell at the beginning, it was getting hard for me to force my way past that to get to the good bits where they start subverting and deconstructing everything (like basically every Tales game).

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker: I always felt that 4 was the best place to stop, and playing this, I can hardly get invested. Just a case of prequelitis, I suppose. Who knows, maybe it gets better.

Advance Wars Days of Ruin: Got stuck on Chapter 10, found it way too hard, always ended up being a war of attrition where I was constantly bleeding money to make more units. I'd more often just give up and try starting over, to no avail.

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon: Didn't hold my interest, plot was dull as hell, graphics were drab and ugly, gameplay didn't feel updated at all from 1990. Giving it another try, but all I want is Awakening right now.

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword: Not sure why, just kinda gave up. Admittedly, I wasn't feeling the motion controls and revisiting the same three dungeons bit, but I was still digging the game in general.

Xenoblade: Put it aside to focus on Xenogears, then come back to it later. Also got lost in like a dozen sidequests.

Sure there are more, too. Really should finish these someday.

Still haven't finished Yakuza 3, Brütal Legend, Jak II and Jak III on my PS3. They were either too hard or too boring, which is quite a feat because there's tons of games on my PS3(I own over 100) that I hated but kept playing just for the sake of trophies.

Ugh, that chapter was a pain. If you do end up beating it, the next 10 chapters or so don't get as difficult as that chapter. Even after that, once it does get harder, the maps are usually more manageable so it never really feels that hard again(in my experience anyway. As I recall, I stopped playing around mission 22-26 I think. Another game I just kind of dropped).

Elder Scrolls 4: Loved Skyrim, but couldn't get into this one. The fact that you zoom into a characters face every time you talk to them just put me off.
Elder Scrolls 5: After 70 hours I just couldn't be asked to navigate those bloody mountains anymore.
Dark souls: Got all the way to Kalameet and couldn't do it
Paper Mario sticker star: died once on the final boss and just didn't try again
Serious sam 2: Again final boss level
Amnesia: got to the torture chamber, stopped and just havn't been back since, mostly due to lack of time
Deathtrap dungeon: Hardest game ever!

Phew, theres defenatly some, but most of them, I finished once later.
But here defenatly those: where I didn't see endgame Content:

Mother3 (Emulator). I was a HUGE Fan of Earthbound, and so naturally wanted to give it a shot. Scritpted Sections galore, a Controller snapping difficulty (at least for me, since I suck hard at Rythm games) and the thing that as in all JRPGS the starts seemes to drag out like mad.
I kinda got turned off, rhough I blame the poor Emulator though, instead of the game. So more my fault.

Every MMORPG I ever touched: Games in this case: WoW lost me, because it was rather feeling... meh after a while.
Guild Wars 2: More like currently on a halt then totally abadoned, I just don't feel like it right now.
Firefall: This time it's my poor engine, when you can't read bugger all (because you have to play "low Res"), or your engine starts chugging in the starting Areas. And... lets just say: the first few missions make up for pretty baaaad pathfinding.

Metro 2033: OK, this time completely my fault, because I got stuck hard as hell on a certain point, and even game walktroughts mention it as ... kinda nightmarish.
It's still some buisness I wanna finish, but prolly have to reload a few missions earlier, so it doesn't feel licke biting trough marble AGAIN.

Payday: Would enjoy it more, but I can't get 4 Players in at the same time, and relying on the A.I. in this game is like playing with a shortsighted ball and chain gang. Seriously, even the AI in L4D was at least... a bit helpfull.
