Do any of you have any games that you liked or just loved despite negative reviews? I know I have at least 2... Sonic R and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer both on PC.

Sonic Unleashed was pretty good, and Halo 3 is awesome despite what many people on this forum say.

Personally, I enjoyed Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes for what they were worth. And my brothers and I actually liked playing Beyblade V-Force. We also liked Legend of Dragoon, though I'm not sure how that fared in reviews...

Cooking Mama 2 got panned like gold dust in a creek by a 1800s Australian Prospector at Ballarat, but I really love it. Also I hate how people always pan J-RPGs which aren't Final Fantasy games, Etrian Odyssey is as core a J-RPG game experience can get in my opinion, and it brought back D&D memories.

IGN always pans games I like such as Disgaea 3 and even the increasingly postmodern Harvest Moon games. I don't know, at first I think I'm going to hate a game then I discover I love it despite its flaws. At first I hated Metroid Fusion then discovered the difficulty was a selling point. I learned to stop worrying and love the (at least in game critic opinions) bombs that somehow appeal to me. I loved Theme Park World for PS1. Sue me. It's a fun theme park simulator.

I enjoyed a good number of the 3D sonic games. Except '06 obviously. That game lowered the standard of Sonic games so hard afterward that I felt a pain in my gut as I played it. Whether or not my positive notions of Unleashed were directly influenced by this... Well, either way, all the 3D sonics save for '06.

Turok was fun for me.
Sure people hated it, but the ability to kill dinosaurs with your knife and pin people to the wall with your bow was awesome.
Also it's my first (and so far the only) console FPS.

I had a lot of fun with Mercenaries 2. No, it wasn't flawless, but the sheer carnage you could cause (especially after the update that brought the infinite ammo cheat), along with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor made it a blast in my opinion.

Urban Chaos: Riot Response. I think it was okay with critics, but it deserved far more praise than it got. You could kill people with meat cleavers, watch them fall off a building and listen to their head cracking on the pavement - all in slow motion! And the Riot Shield is a frickin' awesome idea, too bad most FPSes went for regenerating health instead.

Sad face.

Dunno if this counts, but every review has been complaining about the cut scenes in the MGS series. I love the cut scenes, i wish there were more sometimes.

Days of Thunder (NES) - yeah, as a kid I got hyped by the movies awesome racing scenes and so I kind of enjoyed this broken game...

Ghost Squad Wii - it has so many obvious flaws (dated graphics, short playstime, BAD voice acting) that it had to get mediocre scores. But I gave a shit and enjoyed this over the top trashy acrade gem on my wii and even trained hard enough to archieve high ranks on the online boards.

Lords of Magic - ok, does anyone remember this game ? Well, I spend almost years playing this TBS/RTS/RPG hybrid. (even with its triple AAA class bugs...)

Ferrari Challenge Wii - IIRC its meta score is about 67% right now and Seriously, I cant understand why.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 - no comment...

I actually quite enjoyed Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, on the GC, it was a good laugh although only the Sonic and Shadow levels were ever worth replaying.

Also, a game that now apparently doesn't exist, also on the GC. I'm pretty sure it was called Street Kings and was an arcadey motorbike racing game, think one of the good NFSs but with bikes.
