Parodius. *nudges UK Saturn owners with a wink*

Never again has a game contained such absurd win.

I like Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. A pretty good on rails shooter that you can play with a friend.

Airfix dog-fighter, from what I know it did not sell that well (it had almost zero publicity) but it was some of the best fly around your house, with model planes with fire works action ever.

Star Wars Episode 1 Racer on PC.
IIRC, this got some really good reviews.

Let's see shall we? Alone in the Dark (Metacritic average: 58%), Kane & Lynch (64%), and that's it. Everything else scored 70% or above.

Jurassic Park: The Lost World for the PSX. It was my favourite game back when I was a kid. If I were to play it again, however...

Really struggling with this one. I can think of a dozen games with great review scores which I hated but good games with crap reviews are difficult.

Mirror's Edge, most definitely. I lvoed it for not only its different approach to first-person games, but also because it was diffent in everything from its colours to its cut-scenes.

I actually find it surprising that Yahtzee didn't like it. He complains about games with "gun-metal grey and dogshit brown" as their palette and the lack of originality in gaming, then EA brings out ME, completely different, and he kills it off. I find it really odd.

I think most of the complaints came down to people either not understanding the story becase it wasn't handed out on a platter for them, instead they actually had to THINK to get it; or people not being good at the game and complaining it was too hard.

Sorry, rant's over

Personally, I enjoyed Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Adventure 2 was deemed an amazing game by many critics and fans though.

I noticed a lot of the games people are mentioning here are games that critics and many others are very fond of. They're not hated at all.

For me it would be Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. Despite the games problems it was still amazing and captivating for me.

I liked American McGee's Scrapland, though I feel it didn't really get any attention, compared to crappier games that did.

It's a shame no matter how big or small you made your cart it didn't change your weight.

Cooking Mama 2 got panned like gold dust in a creek by a 1800s Australian Prospector at Ballarat
This analogy makes me laugh.

My personal pick: Blast Corps for the N64. The reception it got could best be described as "meh", and some of those challenges for the medals were outright unfair, but... c'mon, demolishing an entire neighborhood's worth of multi-story buildings with a dump truck to keep an unstable nuclear missile on a runaway carrier from going off? That was some classic Rare quality right there.

I feel like Dead Rising's worth a mention, a lot of people hated that you could only have one save, and that it was too hard until you were at the right level, and all that whiny crap. Am I the only one in the world that wasn't bothered by that stuff at all? Seriously, I'd even go as far as to say that it's my favorite XBox 360 game.
