So I was looking through a list and found a couple of fps games that I'd never heard of before, would be interested to see what you guys thought of them.
Blood
The Operative: No one lives forever
Heretic
Hexen
Thanks and feel free to add your own games.

Back when I was looking for PS2 FPS games, The Operative: No One Lives Forever came highly recommended (along with TimeSplitters, XIII, Black and Project Snow). Unfortunately I never got around buying it.

I heard they were remaking/sequel The Operative: No One Lives Forever, so thought it'd be interesting to get the original, but it isn't on GoG or steam.

Heretic just slightly upgraded the tech of doom and changed weapons around.

I think doom fans perceive it as a quality expansion pack. I'm not sure if it's worth going back and playing now, but it definitely was quality stuff back then and has a small fanbase to it.

I loved playing Hexen when I was a kid. It's a sequel to Heretic but I was too young when I played it to actually notice any story. It's very similar to Doom though. The mage and cleric classes had some pretty rad weapons.

heretic and hexan were doom except with fireballs instead of guns. great at the time but not even close to playable these days.

NOLF, as we called it when i was a whipper snapper, was a great shooter spy thriller somewhere in between james bond and austin powers with tons of gadgets and cool weapons.
Can't say if it would stand up to today's standards but i do have fond memories of it.

Those games are too old for me to enjoy them. They haven't aged well at all.

My recently discovered game is a PS2 gem. Shinobido: Way of the Ninja. Did anyone play this?

It's basically Tenchu done better. From the same developers after they lost Tenchu to FromSoftware. Best ninja game ever made IMO. But my PS2 is dead. Died two days after I bought the game. The game works flawlessly on the PC with the latest PCSX2, if those of you that have played it are curious to give it another go. Why don't we have more stealth ninja games? This genre needs a Renaissance.

Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption. All this time all I have ever seen people talk about on here was Bloodlines as if it was the only game to then find out on GOG that there are more than just one entry in this series. So how is it?

I have to ask. How did you get a hold of that game? I have been searching all over to find a western version of that game for the whole year. How did you get so lucky?

No One Lives Forever is fantastic and still holds up in my opinion based on the dialogue alone. However, the reason you can't find it on GOG or Steam is this: Monolith Productions says that the rights to NOLF belong to Fox Interactive and Fox Interactive says that the rights to NOLF belong to Monolith Productions. No one can work out a digital distribution agreement because neither company can confirm that they are legally able to make such an agreement. I've heard that this has been worked out and that it may come to digital platforms soon(ish), but that was just rumor. As far as I'm aware, NOLF is still in licence limbo.

Heretic and Hexen are awesome, dl zdoom and they play fantastic too. Blood is a lot of fun but really hard. I never played the first no one lives forever but I really enjoyed the second one.

I just found it in a local shop in the older games section. It really comes down to luck and being in the right place at the right time. Because it's the cover art that drew my attention. Someone would have bought it for sure if I wasn't there first.

No One Lives Forever 2 : A Spy In H.A.R.M.'S Way came out a couple of years after the original. I rather liked it. Wacky settings, good humour and generally fun to shoot stuff. I never played the original though.
