Games that you think deserve an update

I was thinking about some games the other day that I had a ton of back in the day that I think could really use a current gen update. Please, also, no "Well there was a thread like this 1 year, 36 days, and 5 hours ago so we don't need a duplicate post" posts.

Two Genesis classics that could use an update:

Shadowrun - The one for the Genesis (NOT to be confused with the one for the SNES) I would think would be the precursor to open world gaming. You had 5 neighborhoods to run around in, TONS of side quests, a great character development system, and a great plot that kept you engaged. Plus you had the computer hacking component that was a ton of fun at the time (its a little dated now).

Kid Chameleon - Probably the best obscure 2d platformer. Tons of fun and a CRAZY difficulty curve. An update would be tons of fun.

And by update I assume you don't just mean new visuals Identical gameplay?
How about Conker's Bad Fur Day or Perfect Dark.
Rare already did Cokner, censored from its original version though it was. And yes, an update to a game usually means bringing the graphics up to speed with current technology.

Personally I'd like to see a current gen re-make of FF8 & 9. Seems a bit fanboyish I know, but those were two game that I grew up with and loved, so a chance to play them again with better graphics would make my day

A lot of the games I can think of I believe have been community updated such as Morrowind.

Some are already/have been updated such as C&C, Starcraft, Doom.

Maybe...Myst. Updated Myst would be amazing, I can't even find my old CD of that game but I remember the visuals being damn good for the time and I imagine puzzles could become even more complex if you made it so you could do physical puzzles using HL2 physics, environments that change over time without your interference, and so on.

I'd buy it and invest an ungodly amount of time into it.

I'd settle for just FF8!

I wouldn't mind an Alex Kidd updated game. Unlike Sonic, which has been repeatedly proven to suck in 3D, Alex Kidd could work with the extra depth. I don't think it'll happen though, Sega are too happy tossing Sonic characters werehog powers and guns to notice a decent series going to waste.

I'd also happily purchase a remake of the old SNES game Stunt Race FX.

Too new really.(unless you're looking for a bug fixing patch or something.)

I'd like to see Half Life get the current gen treatment. I recently got it for the PS2, and I think a touch up would do it wonders.(Graphics and aiming. Plus, they should make Gordon move a bit slower.)

I'd like to see Max Payne get a graphical overhaul. I loved the storytelling but the gameplay was a bit clunky(especially the movement and jumping) and even back when it was released I thought it looked fugly.

Alex Kidd is a great idea, but I dream of aday when they update the original sonic without the 3d gameplay, Unleashed was close

My answer is the same every time I hear this question, and that answer is American McGee's Alice.

I would love to see a new earthbound (I know mother 3 is out but we'll never see it outside Japan) or hell even the old one would be good too.

Man I need to find my old SNES

Man, I need to play Earthbound.

A game in need of introducing to a new generation? The New Zealand Story. That is all.

Amiga classic 'Liberation' could use a revamp too.

You need to find a GBA emulator and the fan-subbed ROM for Mother 3.

Actually, I think I remember reading somewhere that Myst was being re-released some time for the DS. Good chance for PC-nostalgia buffs, and introducing new players.

What I think deserves another looking at would be the Mega Man: Legends series. While the controls weren't exactly perfect, they were competent, and the combination of story and dungeon-diving really pulled a player in. There wasn't a better moment then taking down a difficult boss, or better yet, finding the parts to a cool new weapon.

How about Metal Gear Soli.... oh wait.. they did that on gamecube.....
Okay, Resident Evil.... oh wait... also done on gamecube.

Hmmmmmmm....... I'd like to say FFVII, but I get the feeling I shouldn't. I'd also like to see Killer Instinct revamped and released on LIVE maybe? That'd be sweet.

OH! I would like to see the first Silent Hill redone. I've been trying to catch up on some old games I missed, but I just can't get into them. I've been spoiled by nicer graphics and better controls... :(

I know, it's terrible.
