Many, many JRPGs. I'm more than willing to give any game a go (well, most games) but when an 8 year old who's actually 14 and thus totally legal (at least in Japanland) who has a sword 4 times the size of her, her mouth is completely detached from her face is somewhere on her fucking skull regardless of her profile, or her eyes grow over her bangs, then I will fip the fucking table. No weird loli shit that's all too common for me.

Also, any Silent Hill game that's made from here on out in the west. After Book of Memories, I just sighed and stared at my Vita for an hour or two, and thought, "that... was a Silent Hill game? Forced RPG mechanics, dungeon-crawling.. was I not just playing Etrian Oddysey mixed with a wishy washy Song of Saya? Oh, no, wait, that was Silent Hill. Fuck."

Any Persona 4 game except from Persona 4 itself. I swear, Atlus are milking this for every penny they can get out of it, and the game is ok but didn't surpass P3's bar. I like it, but it doesn't manage to achieve the middle of Persona 3 and an actual emotion.

Also, any game that gets more media/cultural coverage because of a female character's breasts acting independant, like brained, sentient parasites trying to break free of their host, than, say, the actual game.

diablo 3- I hear it has been improved in reaper of souls and the auction house is now gone but they still have always online drm without having a justified reason for it. Only mmo's, a free to play game the relies on microtranactions to continue existing, and game that only has online multiplayer can justify making always online internet as requirement to play.

zyanga and king games- I don't need to explain my self

bullshit free mobile games that are designed around the Idea of suck peoples wallets dry with Micro-transactions and ones designed to take advantages of "whales": I also don't need to explain my self

Battlefield 4. I learned my lesson after buying Battlefield 3. Same with any future Final Fantasy games after trying to play FFXIII.

I also know I won't go near a MOBA. With most games, I can at least see what people get out of them, even if I don't enjoy them myself. I still don't know why people play MOBAs. They seem like empty shells of games to me, personally.

Thief. Just not into stealth and relatively low power. The original ad for the first one was, "No anti tank guns. No machine guns. Just a bow. And a few arrows." Heck, gimme my BFG5000! And I've heard the latest just isn't that good.
To be honest, I love the latest Thief game but I also didn't play the older ones. Whenever you have a new entry into an old series you're always going to have people saying it's not nearly as good as the old ones. However, since from what I've heard it's been panned almost across the board this could just be another case of me liking something that many others dislike.

OT: I'd have to say Kingdom Hearts games. It's not that the mechanics aren't good but when I used to play it there were times where the dialogue made me feel like I was watching one of those wretched children's shows. Aside from that, there's not much I won't play. I like to dabble in a bit of every genre.

Eve Online. I love hearing about the colossal space engagements from that game, but I could never get into actually playing it myself. Very glad that it exists though.

I see one... spiky haired dude with a sword the size of a fridge and I'm gone.
That's exactly why I'll never take the idea of playing FFVII seriously either. That thing wasn't a sword, it was a bloody pizza paddle, and any character or game player who thinks it'd be in any way an effective weapon is beyond saving.

Candy Crush. I doubt I'll ever get into playing any MMO big time because I find the kill x of y gameplay empty, boring and soul crushing.

I keep a pretty open mind when it comes to gaming but I'm not interested in most sports games, modern military shooters, or MMORPG's.

1. Console exclusives for consoles I do not own. $500+ is too steep for a single title, no matter how brilliant.
2. Evident shovel-ware.

Aside from that, anything is fair game. I'm not in any rush to publicly announce my disapproval of certain titles or genres by pouting that "I'll never love you! Never!" before gathering up my skirts and flouncing away.
Aww, but I'm sure your skirts are beautiful!

Dark Souls.

I'm not interested in the genre, I'm not a fan of crushing difficulty in games, and the elitism of the fanbase has put me right off playing it, permanently.
If it weren't for the first two issues, I'd tell you I have seen very little earnest elitism. I played the game for months and went to forums and everything, and it's pretty much the same way "PC master race" is around here, and none of the elitism I did encounter was in-game.

OT: Sports games depicting real sports, any number of social 'games', most games with a subscription service (mainly MMOs), and at this rate, probably not Final Fantasy, if only because I've managed not to play a single one so far and the praise for any new ones isn't exactly resounding.

-Any EA published game (Forget the EA hate bandwagon; I've given them 15 years to stop pissing me off, and they've failed)

-Any Activision/Blizzard games going forward (Diablo 3 was the last straw. They want to bend me over a briar patch with that Always Online crap, they can go fuck themselves. You don't trust me with your game, I don't trust you with my money. That's fair.)

-Any MMO (I'm done with them. There's nothing to be said about them but "grind grind grind grind". If I want to spend my leisure time working, I'll put in overtime doing something that pays me)

-Any digital card game (just...no. I know statistics. I can run the odds.)

-Any "freemium" game.

Any MOBA or fighter. The elitism and bile that oozes from those two make me ashamed to even be called a gamer.

Any MMO, RTS, or sports game.

The usual suspects.
Since when is RTS a "usual suspect"? I'm not being accusatory, I'm legitimately curious because there just aren't that many and even fewer which are "meh" or worse.

As for games I never will play...
Well, as said above, I'm not one to write off genres as a whole. Many individual games I've seen I've not got much interest in playing, but never entire genres.
Except maybe horror games. I am jumpy as fuck and get really REALLY paranoid whenever I even watch someone play those. In amnesia for example, when there's that first jump scare with the monster where it turns out it's just dust, I was laying on the couch watching my brother and my leg shot out so fast I almost pulled my hamstring.

I don't want to say that I wouldn't play RTS games or MMORPGs; I just don't have that much interest in these genres in general.

If I find a game that interests me enough to give it a go, I would probably be open to trying them out. I used to not like Point & Click adventures/Visual Novel/Mystery Puzzle titles until I played 999 and it was awesome.

Any Call of Duty game past the original Modern Warfare. While I don't hate the series, I'm not that good at twitch FPS and my net connection is bad enough for them not to be worth the hassle. I've still got MW1 installed for when I go to LANs, but that's as far as I will go.

I would never play MMORPG's as I don't really see the appeal, a lot of the people I know that play WOW, Starcraft etc, have sank a hell of a lot of time into these games and I don't really see the payoff for them, I like my games to have a definite beginning/middle/end. I might be being ignorant, but it just isn't for me I'm afraid.

I also wouldn't play FIFA or PES, or sports games in general, as football/soccer is one of the most unappealing sports I can think of in my opinion. I much prefer ice hockey, but even then the NHL games are unappealing to me as aside from roster changes as players move from team to team and certain teams might change their jerseys, all the games just look the same to me.

I'm never playing FFXIII or its sequels. The Final Fantasy series started its downward slide into crap with FFX-2, I'm staying far away from the MMO ones, and FFXII was, at least in my opinion, the last gasp of greatness from Square.
At any rate, not playing FFXIII because the reviews I've seen have universally panned it. Also I don't have a PS3. Or Steam. Or a Vita. Basically all I have is a PS2 and a DS, and it's staying that way. (*waves a tiny banner with 'old school' written on it*)

I won't play the half life games. I missed them when they were new and innovative, so now they have nothing to offer me.
Since you haven't actually played them, isn't that a bit presumptuous?

I mean, unless you only play new, innovative games. Then I see where you're coming from.

Though to be fair, I suppose I could say the same thing about Mass Effect 2 and 3. I played a bit of the first one and was bored to tears. The story just did nothing for me and the characters and universe didn't draw me in.

This is where I stand. There are some games I will flatly refuse to play; for example anything from Zynga or King; but I won't ever really write off any particular genre.

Or even a series, really. I'm always open to a dev churning out something surprising and fun - even if they've not done so in the past.

Moba games, and any Counter strike games. These types of games both contain a toxic community of players,
Well, let's be honest here, every game-based community contains it's toxic elements. I've seen just as many vehemently hateful players of, say, Dark Souls, as I have of anything like League of Legends or Dota.

and on the plus side, the game play in both of these games gets me bored in seconds.
I tend to experience the same thing with most "realistic" sports games/sims.

If I wanted to watch a sport, I'd turn on ESPN. If I wanted to play a sport, I'd go outside.
