I actually enjoyed the reggae and talk radio stations on GTA4.

I don't mute voices by default on Xboxlive, they might say something useful or at least something funny, but if someone is annoying, I'll mute them.

I will mute RTS and TBS though. The only sound that's usually important to listen out for is the warning for when you're under attack, and that's not always reliable when multiple groups are attacked.

In WoW, I do it sometimes to listen to my music, but the stuff in game is fine on most occasions.

I usually prefer to have sound so I can be more aware. I rarely have my entire attention put into one game, so a sudden noise can alert me to anything is useful.

Mario sunshine, the little clown horn noise when you die was soooo annoying especially on the levels where you lose your water gun.

I usually turn of Mount&blades music as it gets old rather quickly. And play my own music to it.
Have you noticed how mis-matched the music is? The epic stuff will play when I'm buying bread, but theyrll b shopping music as I slauter millions.
Well obviously the music was synced with what your character was thinking, not what he was doing.
I know when I am out for groceries, I'm thinking about all the other things I should be doing, like slaughtering that one town who refused to give me some milk.
Then, when I AM slaughtering said village, all I can think of is "Did I forget to buy milk?"
that was very win, and I thank you for it.

Interesting Bug Report!

During the Cargo Boat level of the first Deus Ex, my speakers will produce the worlds loudest humming EVAR in the hangar.

Oddly enough, it goes away INSIDE the boat.

I'm talking about this level:

You know, i did the exact same thing! Deus Ex had a few sound issues like computer screens bleepign way to loud or things not making any noise at all

Only game I have ever muted to date was Army of Two. The incessant "YO BRO" and "DAWG DAWG DAWG" "BRO DAWG NOOOOOOOOOOOO" "YO DAWG BRO" was pissing me off. The voice acting was terri-bad and it seemed to suggest to me that frat houses and Hollister stores are secretly mercenary recruitment facilities.
