Well, I just bought Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga off of steam 2 days ago, and it's probably one of the most underrated rpg's I've ever seen.
The best way that I would describe it is; this is what Kingdoms of Amular should've been.
1. The story draws you in with some good lore, but it doesn't require you to go out of your way to read books and stuff to understand the story and factions (I'm looking at you, Elder Scrolls).
2. The combat seems bland at first, but in the mid to late-game it becomes fun and interesting. You can mix and match your character between archer, fighter, and mage, so there's some customization with classes.
3. There's a lot of secret stuff to discover if you go off the beaten path. You won't find every side-quest character otherwise. Sometimes you might have to mind-read (YOU CAN DO THAT!!!) someone so that you can find the key to their celler, then find a diary there, detailing how someone murdered a man in cold-blood, starting a new quest.
4. Humor in this game is awesome. The main quest is supposed to be taken pretty seriously, but many of the other quests have some humor and references to other games or shows and stuff. There's an obvious reference to Dragon Ball Z's Ginyu Force, for example.
5. THE MUSIC! I would recommend this game for the soundtrack alone. One of my favorite soundtracks of any game, it fits with the game, makes you feel like you're going on some epic quest.
6. You get to transform into a FRIGGIN DRAGON!
There are, however, some flaws.
You probably won't find and solve EVERYTHING in the game. It doesn't hold your hand, and you might find some quests literally impossible to complete because, say, you accidentally killed a dude 2 side-quests ago that's actually REALLY important right now. Of course, none of these conflictions appear in the main quest, so I don't think it's a huge problem.
There are some bugs. So far, the only bug I've encountered is that in a certain area my sound will shut off, until I go to the menu and then resume the game.
There is a LARGE gap between auto-saves. Not that big of a deal, but you really want to save, a LOT. When I first started playing, I lost three hours worth of my game because I forgot to save. It wasn't fun.
But anyways, PICK UP THIS GAME! It's a lot of fun, and if you can get it cheap (I hear it's only 10 bucks on Amazon) it's a steal.
Also, make sure you get "The Dragon Knight Saga" and not "Ego Draconis".
"The Dragon Knight Saga" has Ego Draconis and a DLC story, plus improved graphics and other cool stuff.
... Wow, I didn't mean to type that much...
