If I may suggest something different, Fallen London. It's a really good browser game. It works really well when you're doing something else because you can give it a few minutes of attention once every couple of hours. Might also suggest Kingdom of Loathing, although it's been ages since I played it.

The only time Archer becomes tolerable is when muffled behind 26 jet engines blasting at full power on my spacecraft in Kerbal Space Program.

But yes, turn based stuff are better when you need to switch tracks to watch important parts of the show.

Borderlands 2 would also be a good candidate. I also used to play Titanfall while listening to TV (talk)shows while listening to music, but there Titanfall was my main activity, and the TV was more of a side dish.
Borderlands 1 or 2. I love 1 more than 2, and there's something about initial original content that I absolutely love. Plus, the higher level you get, the easier the game gets because you can tear right through depending on your class. As a Siren, you can nope the heck out of anywhere with your ability. And at higher levels, your ability lasts longer and heals you. It allows you to go through content so fast.

Great rec!
