Well, the main character of Just Cause annoyed me to the point where I did go out of my way to kill him, usually involving freefall jumps that ended with a resounding splat.
Other than that, the Prince in Warrior Within did peev me slightly, but having the ability to kill him, rewind time and kill him again made up for that.

Isaac in Dead Space, because they didn't let him emote. If they'd given him a voice, it would have been better.
Ethan in Condemned 2, because of how much they changed the character.

Hate... Squall... so much. I don't particularly like any of the FF protagonists, but Squall is probably the worst one. I have nothing against having an emo character in a game, since it could make for an interesting experience, but in an RPG you should be able to choose what your character is like: they shouldn't have to be emo. Especially with Squall, who spends pretty much all of the game whining and/or brooding.dstryfe said:

I didn't like any of the Gears characters. Marcus is an idiot, Dom is a bigger idiot, Baird is irritating and has a terrible voice actor, and the less said about Cole Train the better. God, I hated him. He was so obviously being groomed to be a fan favourite, which really irritated me because he was horrible! If you're going to create a character specifically so that people will like them, you can at least have the decency to do it well (see Minsc and HK-47). I'm not sure that Epic are able to create likeable characters.krement said:
HK-47 was quite possibly the best character in KOTOR. Hands down. Jolee was second for being the absolute stereotype of old men.
