The music in Brutal Legend is part of the gameplay. When you raise the armies, you need to play music for them.

I'm trying to find games where music plays an integral role in the actual gameplay.

I know what you mean, but that's not really what I'm going for.

Not sure Auditorium really works. Sure, music plays as you complete the puzzles, but that's really not terribly different than the puzzle solving medley of Legend of Zelda. Think about it. The music itself doesn't affect the gameplay: different parts just join in as you fill the various music bars.

Hmm. I included it because the music provides direct feedback on your progress, but you raise a good point, it doesn't directly influence the game. Removed.

So would Rez, though. Or Audiosurf or Guitar Hero, for that matter. The sound is still relevant feedback to gameplay. I'm trying to be a little lenient here.
