Games where your first entry was a remake

The first Devil May Cry title was DMC: Devil May Cry, and personally I loved it! I bought the HD Trilogy, and personally speaking, I prefer the new one. Maybe because of visuals though.

The Resident Evil remake (or RE:make) was my first and is still my favorite RE game. Honestly, I have no desire to go back and play the original, it doesn't look like it would have much to offer.

It wasn't my first Resi game (that would be 2) but it's my favourite Resi game. Seriously, that is the title I hold all remakes too.

I don't think there is any series where I started with the remake.

Wait, no... I bought the original Baldurs Gate series on GoG, but never really played it, then I bought the enhanced edition of BG (still need to get BG2:EE), so that's the only "remake" I played as an entry title.

Does that count?
