Sorry about this again, but meant any mesomaercian pre-Columbian I just said Aztec and Maya because it's the most familiar civs in mesoamercia.

Once again, more recent current gen games perfered.

I know you said no RTS but that's my primary gaming platform, so I'm going with it anyways; Age of empires 3 + the war chiefs expansion.

Tomb Raider

But also Cryptic Studios is in development of a game I think may fit this bill but won't exclusively feature it.

I agree though it should have more games centered on it. There is plenty of content there. A minigame in the ball courts of Maya could be fun.

Rise of Nations maybe? It had both aztec and mayan civilizations (the expansion pack)

Recent, current-gen games with cultural undertones other than modern American, Japanese, or Euro-fantasy?
Pshaw. No developer puts that much time into developing the setting anymore. They're waaaay too busy studying demographic charts and coming up with hollow appeals to popular culture.

So, I'll reiterate my recommendation of Illusion of Gaia for SNES. That whole game is chock full of Incan imagery.

Medieval 2: Total War had a Mesoamerican/conquistador campaign in the Kingdoms x-pack. Though I have to say the campaign is vastly more fun as Spain.

The journeyman project 2: buried in time had a level in the Aztec era.
Ah, I was hoping somebody would mention that one. Such a nostalgia trip.
Just yesterday I tried installing it, but windows 7 hates 16 bit installers :(

Modern games with an aztec theme throughout? I guess Zuma? Thats all I can think of.
