I'm more akin to believing Metacritic scores for critics rather than users. Why? Look around the internet, users don't have a job that requires them to be at least somewhat objective in their review. They are more likely to be close-minded (look at a big-name exclusive for PS3 or Xbox, it will have several reviews for it before it is even released and the scores will be on the extremely low or high), and intent on flaming. The people who get paid to do this are held to some standard, and while that doesn't mean they have no bias, they do have to be more tact about it, meaning you won't see many 0/10 scores from critics.
