I'm asking the Escapist to name a game with a good community based on their own experince.

I'm just going to say halo reach, as from the people I have talked to were quite polite. As the game doesn't force you to go into game chat, Most people are in parties or don't use headsets. In my lengthy time playing I have encountered no schreechy pre-teens or chavs. Please do not accosiate these groups with all FPS's please, as I have only have only meet these in MW2.

The STALKER community seems to be a big batch of friendly people who love to come together, tell stories, and walk away with more questions than answers.

...Probably because this is a good representation of what STALKER really is.

TF2 has a wonderful community, everyone is really nice on there.
Of all the online games I've played, I would agree with this fine person that TF2 has a wonderful community, the best as far as I'm concerned.

Most people are hilarious, intelligent, and know what they're doing on TF2 servers, gotta love it!

Anything without multiplayer.
Yes.

If you're looking for a good gaming community online (as in on forums and whatnot) then I've always found the Hitman games have a decent community. There seems to be some sort of mutual respect for the game.

Online-wise the Battlefield community seem to be very friendly and actually use teamwork. I rarely heard any haters, screaming or general idotic behaviour on Bad Company 1, 2 and 1943.

It's a fair point, I feel - without all the flame wars started by; "OMG HAXXX!!" "OMG N00B!!" and 12-year-old Americans, people start to get on a lot better.

Really? Halo has one of the worst communities in gaming, which is a shame, because Bungie really deserve better.

I dunno about games with good communities...

Any game community that is in the same room. I love gaming with friends on the same console, using four controllers. The friends I would invite over to my house for a good game of SSBM or 007 or Medal of Honor were awesome. That would only be natural of course because I would only allow awesome people to come.

The communities you can control are the best communities at all.

[sub][sub][sub]I will admit that the TF2 community is pretty good too.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

I would have to put my vote on the Monster Hunter community. Apart from a elitist here and there it truly is a wonderful community. Sure I hear some people say that they dont like otaku type of people or w.e you want to refer that to but should that really define if a community is good or not? I dont think I should.

In game I agree with you. There's very few annoying pre-teens. The forums for Bad Company 2 are a different story. It's 90% people bitching about really stupid things.

Mount & Blade has a really good community.

I'll also throw in Demon's Souls. Lots of fun to converse with others and hear about their trouble, different play styles, give advice, etc.

Can you tell me what bad things have been seen, perhaps in bullet point form

Every game's communities has its bad parts and its good parts. You can be either really unlucky and get the worst kinds of players or be lucky and get really nice players.
