System Shock, System Shock 2, Bioshock, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, GTA4, Prototype, Halo 3, Hitman: Blood Money, and Call of Duty 4 have no story WHATSOEVER.
Either this is trolling, or your retarded.
Seconded! Although I didn't think Prototype's story was that great.
Thirded! All of those have stories. As the quality of said stories is up for debate. But a bad story is still a story even if it does suck.

Pretty much any arcade game before home consoles. Joust takes top honors though. I have no idea how one would justify Joust.

The old platformers didn't used to have much of a story.
Crash Bandicoot for example. Oh, and little big planet.

Guitar Hero has a story. Defending the world and the God of Rock from Lou in increasingly bullshitty scenarios.

Just about ANY flash game
I'll take the first as a joke. The story was almost impossible to follow.
Most flash games try to have stories, even if it's just scrolling text. Or in the instructions.

The original DOOM.
the entire game can be summarised as there are creatures from hell and zombies, there is you, monsters don't like you so kill them.

POKER.

I can't understand why a story is all that necessary. Alright, a story does increase my enjoyment of a game tenfold (oxymoron), but people should bear in mind they are still GAMES.

Its difficult to answer this question. Most games have some kind of story. I suppose what this comes to is a game with an incredibly simple token story? Most genesis games. Sonic, streets of rage, the first Golden Axe, all of these early games had incredibly basic, token storylines which didn't really explain much. Now that isn't saying they had absolutely no story at all, it was just very basic stuff indeed. The old 3D N64 Mario games traditionally had very little in the way of storylines.

Unfortunately I can't give a more modern example, most of the games I've played are pretty heavily focussed on storyline in one form or another.

I thought Shadow of the Colossus was lacking in story.
It just took a different approach, Shadow of the Colossus required you to put together the story as you saw it, brilliant in it's own way.
Yeah, I just wasn't big on the game in the first place so I really didn't get the story but I guess there is one.

Heh, yeah, sort of.

I was debating whether or not to cite Guitar Hero and Rock Band in this topic. Actually, specifically the first Rock Band and the first two Guitar Hero games. GH3 had all that Lou nonsense and World Tour was, erm, a world tour. But then... it could be said that all of them are telling the story of a world tour, to some extent.

Football Manager games... they really have no story at all - "here is a football team, manage it" is not a story, it's an instruction.

The first four Tony Hawk games had no story, just lists of objectives. Some argue that it all started to go wrong when they decided to introduce storylines. I'd be inclined to agree, although American Wasteland was pretty good.

Aside from that, my only suggestions would be games that have storylines so stupid or irrelevant that they're completely disregarded. Beautiful Katamari - who needs a storyline? Just roll around picking stuff up, enjoying the bright colours and comedy aesthetic.

3 pages, and yet not a single mention of Worms?
What about the touching war story of Boggy B and Spadge?
This can be found on the PC disc of the original if you play it as a music CD

Pacman had a great story. You play a drug addict helping him get his next fix while he runs from hallucinations of ghosts. He also has a druggie wife and druggie daughter in the sequels.

Tetris also had a story. Communist blocks are invading and you have to destroy them in an utterly arbitrary and non-sensical way. Even Space Invaders had a story. Invaders are invading from space and you have to defend the Earth from them.

Sims doesn't really have a story, but you can create your own, in a way. Interestingly, the Sims 2 does have a story mode, where you're trying to get all your stuff off your greedy ex-stepdad and make friends with your step-siblings. Weird, but still a story, in a way.

Half-Life 2. Bungie are such geniuses, they managed to hide the complete lack of a story so far.
Half-Life 2? Bungie? Huh?

If you think Half-Life doesn't have a story, start at the beginning. It all makes sense from then on.

Also I can't really think of a game with NO story besides puzzle games. Almost every game has a story, doesn't have to be good...but it's a story

quake2 and quake 1 are still the best FPS games i ever played. all the ones we have these days bother making this elaborate plot and crap no one cares about.

if you want a plot read a book, or watch a movie.
Don't get me wrong, I still own Quake to this day. It is my favorite FPS to this day. But I had to play all the way through to the end before I figured out the game was sending me to the demon mama. Which, considering how bad a shot I am, was weeks.
