I bought Metroid Prime 3 but I found the game a little to non-linear and hard for my first FPS game.
Metroid is less FPS and more shooter-based puzzle game. The combat is also piss-weak.

Guess that why I didn't like it so much.

Edit: bah I'm no good at using this whole forum device, I can't even quote for goods sake.

Rygar for the PS2. I used to love Rygar on the NES. Granted I was a little kid and I thought it was cool mostly because it was different. I really liked the jump pixel, the discarmor, and the fact it switched between side scroller and overhead view. The PS2 version was a disappointment. They didn't even do that much with the discarmor.

Starfox 64, Metal Slug Anthology, New Super Mario Brothers, WarioWare: Touched, Doom 2, Destruction Derby 64.

These are a few titles that come to mind.

Half Life 2.
Yeah I said it.
While the clever sci fi atmosphere and aliens and story and setting were great for me (I'm a sci fi geek) there was something about it that prevented me from liking it anywhere near as much as other people seem to.
They are all like "Half Life 2 is the best, Half Life 2 is godly, play Half Life 2"
I sit down and play it and think:
"This is... just a game. Nothing else, and it certainly isn't a beacon of divine origin."

I don't hate Half Life 2, it's just nowhere near as good as people say it is.
Fortunatley I got it with the Orange Box so there were still other games to play... like Portal. I love Portal.

I respect those who have no qualms about admitting such things like this. It's actually good to know. When you think about it, Half-Life 2 is only popular because it was groundbreaking. Like GoldenEye for the N64, which hasn't aged well.

Need for Speed Carbon. I've always liked the series, and Most Wanted was great, but carbon was a carbon (pun regretfully intended) copy of Most Wanted in a far worse city, one new race mode (which was actually pretty cool, but not worth it for), a really bad 'what type of car person are you' theme, a pathetic story (compared to Most Wanted's, which wasn't anything special, then again its a racing game) which (nostalgia mode: activate!) ruined Most Wanted's best character and it was completely at night. And one of the best songs wasn't actually heard during racing, but only when roaming. And you've got no objectives that require cop chases. And there's a terrible wingman thing. And the story mode is in a general 'territory control' theme, which really isn't needed and doesn't make any sense.

/rant.

Poor Sonic. The little bugger's stardom is going from Led Zeppelin to Milli Vanilli. On a 70 degree slope. Covered in tacks.

I loved Halo 1, but I want to murder bungie for Halo 2. Rushed development and all that. I've played Halo 3 and it's well . . . meh. It was a speedrun so I didn't really have enough time to formulate a good opinion.
